The Media Literacy Ireland Awards took place today at Virgin Media Ireland and we were delighted to be awarded Best Initiative for Older People for our project Disera - Disinformation of Seniors in Rural Areas. We worked with New Horizons aps in Sicily, European Cultural Epicenter in North Macedonia and Centrum prevencie mládeže Čadca in Slovakia to develop training and deliver it to older people in all four countries - thanks to funding from the EU under their Erasmus Plus initiative. Donating time, effort and expertise were media professionals Fiona Ashe and Bill Tyson. The project was managed by EurAV team member Moira Cassidy and Near FM came to our aid by facilitating us in their studio where we recorded our radio/podcast resources. A huge thanks to Martina Chapman and her team at Media Literacy Ireland and to Coimisiún na Meán for their comprehensive and ongoing support for media literacy in Ireland. Léargas
