We're delighted to announce the tickets for this year's Kilkenny Animated Festival are NOW ON SALE!

This year’s festival has all the events you know and love, including Sketching Tours; Kids & Teens Workshops; Industry Talks and Masterclasses; Film Screenings - and some very exciting special guests!

Industry professionals and animation-lovers can look forward to a packed line-up of events with special guests including the creators of many iconic Disney characters we know and love, Glen Keane and John Musker; Imogen Sutton, wife and long-time collaborator of animation legend, Richard Williams; & Beryl creator and Emmy award winners, Joanna Quinn and Les Mills.

After the runaway success of 2023, this year's festival will also see a return of the popular Pathways to Animation strand for second-level and third-level students and recent graduates. More details on how to book tickets for these free events will be made available soon.

The programme is packed with exciting and entertaining events for young and old - and with 2024 being the 25th anniversary of Kilkenny’s own, multi-Academy Award nominated animation studio, Cartoon Saloon, guests are sure to enjoy the soon-to-be announced screenings and studio tours on this year’s programme - it’s shaping up to be very special.

Absolutely delighted to be at the launch of HOME BIRD, our most recent short as part of the 'HOME' Animated shorts. Biggest congrats to the small but mighty team who brought the story to life, Aoífe HD Director/ writer/ design/ animation, Niamh Herrity Producer/ Writer, Antonio Terlizzi Vis Dev and Backgrounds, Patricia Ross Storyboard, Bob Etchingham Rigging/ Animation

The fantastic voice artists Carl Mullan and Marcus Lamb who really brought the characters to life and the ever so talented Francisco Rios for an amazing score and sound design.

Shout out to Eoin and Irena.

Last but by no means least the RTÉjr team Eimear O'Mahony and Suzanne Kelly for once again entrusting us with another production... you rock!!!

We are looking for experienced people to join our crew on Season 2 of Urban Tails.

If you have at least 3yrs experience as an animation supervisor or in compositing please email your reel and CV to [email protected]

This role is offsite but you MUST be based in Ireland.

We are using Toon Boom Harmony for animation and After Effects for compositing. Knowledge of the appropriate software is a must.

Topics of discussion will include; Beyond the Screen: 'Maximising the potential of Animation Intellectual Property', and 'The Power of Collaboration: The Art of Co-developing and Co-producing Animation'.

Very excited to be heading to CARTOON with this year.

We cant wait to show the world what we have been working on.

SYNOPSIS:

Why is it that Unicorns, Nessie or a Yeti have never been caught? Because they are stealthy kick-ass ninjas of course! With the realms in peril, the CRYPTIX seek a human to join their ranks. They set their sights on "J***y Von Deadly", 90's action hero, fulltime single dad.

In a twist if fate, his clumsy 13-year-old daughter Dani Daly accidentally accepts the role of "Realm Defender" in his stead.

She is now the chosen one! OMG! She always believed monsters were real! This is AWESOME!

Dani is a die-hard try-hard kid who puts her heart and soul into everything she does.

CRYPTIX is an epic high-kicking, father-daughter, comedy adventure series that roots for the underdog.
