Dublin Digital Radio - ddr.

Dublin Digital Radio - ddr. Online community radio station representing a wealth of music, art and politics across Ireland. We are here to change that. Be surprised.

Dublin Digital Radio is an online digital radio station dedicated to providing a quality platform for the various communities striving to create a socially and culturally progressive city in a landscape netted with political stasis and tepid bureaucracy. We here at Dublin Digital Radio, believe it is time to break the mould with the medium of radio. The inanity of the licensed radios’ relationship

with advertisers, record labels, playlists and impartiality even when faced with the truth have no space on an online radio station that thrives on the medium it exists upon. Too long has the music scene in Ireland rip roared along without a radio platform to support it, to provide the link between what’s happening on the ground to the listener, the music lover that has been left behind by the cultural dearth on Irish national airwaves. Too long have social and political issues been silenced on the airwaves due to the puppet show of balance and too long off air are the days of the pirate radio when a degree of autonomy existed on the airwaves. DDR will be a platform for open ears delving into all that has been silenced, both musically and socially for too long. DDR will be a home in Ireland for all those with a passion for music, from the labels that are allowing the environment of independent Irish music to breathe to local DJ’s and music lovers, to those pushing the sound barriers on the classical end of things. DDR will be a space for conversations and debates, for stories and criticisms, a space to challenge all attempts to depoliticise culture. We want our listeners to fall in love again with radio and in the process creating a stronger environment for musicians, and listeners alike. Get your your router ready for DDR. Tune in every weekend.

Here’s what she had to say about this mix “I recently decided to stop putting genres on my name and I’ve never felt so much freedom while DJing, this mix is a great representation of the sounds I like the put out there and I hope ye enjoy it”

“At DDR’s Q***ring The Airwaves, I will be sharing songs that were influential to my q***r identity while growing up in India.
My identity and artistic mindset were shaped by the powerful combination of larger-than-life Bollywood music, Lata Mangeshkar, and David Bowie. They provided me with the strength to confront difficult times. Picture Bollywood’s vibrant dance numbers and dramatic ballads serving as the soundtrack to my journey, turning every struggle into a scene from an epic movie. Lata Mangeshkar’s celestial voice acted as both a soothing lullaby and a battle cry, giving me the emotional strength to persevere. And then there was David Bowie—the starman who taught me that embracing my uniqueness was my superpower. His fearless, boundary-breaking artistry served as a source of hope, inspiring me to be bold and creative even in the face of adversity. Together, these icons transformed my path into a rich tapestry of resilience, creativity, and self-acceptance, turning my q***r identity into not just something to navigate, but something to celebrate. Now living in Ireland, I often journey back to those memories, embracing them anew as an Irish q***r.”

Moving Still is a Jeddah-born, Dublin-based producer and DJ whose tracks have charged the sets of high profile DJs, topped the Rush Hour charts, and taken the festival circuit by
storm.

A veteran on the Irish scene, in 2023 he has shown his skill as a closer, progressing from his Boiler Room set at the Middle of Nowhere party curated by Nooriyah, to prestigious venues like Manchester’s White Hotel, and closing the Anachronica stage aka ‘Rave in the Woods’ at Ireland’s largest festival, Electric Picnic.

With an international presence, Moving Still's releases have received global acclaim, frequently landing in the record bags of heavyweight DJs. Notably his latest EP Kalam Hub, released under Palms Trax's CWPT label, showcases his musical prowess. Both EP singles secured spots on Spotify editorial playlists, including the melody-soaked Kunafa
King featured on The Loft among fellow "future pioneers," and the SWANA-infused techno track La Titasil Feeya on the heavyweight Altar playlist.

His achievements have earned him substantial recognition, including an in-depth feature in DJ Mag and a spotlight from clothing label Patta. Furthermore, Moving Still's impact reverberates through multiple publications such as CLASH, VICE ID, Resident Advisor, Mixmag, Ransom Note, and Irish Examiner.
