RTÉ Olympics homecoming review: 'There were shades of that time in the 1980s when Charlie Haughey won the Tour de France and some guy called Stephen Roche tried to grab the limelight at the victory parade on the Champs-Elysees'

Thousands of people gathered at the GPO on O’Connell Street for the homecoming of the Irish Olympics heroes. RTÉ News (Monday, 12pm) showed the whole thing live, from the musical build-up to the main event, to give people who couldn’t make it a chance to share the experience at home.
