I popped by New Look in my town yesterday. I haven’t shopped there for years as they removed the plus section but I was looking for shoes so decided to head in. I saw this stunning dress and decided to give it a go.

It’s bias cut so it was pulling uncomfortably over my tummy but I love the flow and the colour of the fabric.

I didn’t buy it but I’m delighted I tried it. This style of dress is beautiful on so many shapes so I will keep an eye out for one similar.

Sometimes trying different silhouettes than what the rules dictates we should wear, can be so much fun.

This dress is a little too high neck for a typical Apple shape but you know what?
Who cares!! I loved it and if the fit had been perfect on me, this would have been my new years dress

Sadly this dress was a bit big for me and the size down was a little too snug but I love it and would have worn it proudly.

My point here.. don’t be afraid to try something new. Don’t be afraid to step out of the rules or the comfort zone.

Shapewear or no shapewear?
Do you wear it??

Many who tries it and hates it, it is simply because they didn’t find the right shapewear or because they have unrealistic expectations to it!

Shapewear is NOT going to make you skinnier!
Shapewear is NOT going to make you loose 10lb’s!
Shapewear is NOT magically make you look wastly different!

Shapewear is there to help smooth you out. To lay an easier foundation for your outfit.

It is supposed to be comfortable, breathable and most importantly.. stay in place!

If you have to fight it, if you feel it or it make you unable to breathe and sit comfortably, you are wearing the wrong shapewear..
If it rolls, gives you a wedgy or it digs into you.. you are wearing the wrong shapewear..

Last night I got this comment on a yt shorts I posted. It was just an ootd, it wasn’t anything fancy or dressed up..
It was an every day outfit that works for us apples.

Now at first I laughed at the comment but as the conversation with the woman carried on, I realised something..

We live in a world now where being dressed up like it is Christmas every day is not just normal! It’s expected!

If you aren’t dressed up with a perfectly accessorised outfit, perfect hair and make-up.. you are looked down upon!

Social media as usual are to blame for a lot of this! We are constantly bombarded with everything now having to be perfectly organised in matching clear containers and not a hair is to be out of place!
Lips needs to be pumped, nails HAS to be done and god forbid if we wear our gym leggings as an outfit to the shop 😳

I am a personal stylist! Yep! but you know what I am before I am anything else?
I AM BUSY! I am a mum of 3 with 5 pets and a husband! I live in the country side, I work from home.. I live a blessed life for sure but it’s busy! I work 2 full time jobs!

I do NOT have the time to worry about my makeup being perfect 20 times a day. I get covered in muck when I’m in the field with the dogs.. meaning I don’t do that in heels and a fabulous outfit..

My kids don’t care if I have properly accessorised my outfit or if I wear my pj’s to pick the up from work at night..

I am a busy mom with a busy life and in a busy life I need real and practical outfits..
what good is an amazing outfit if your dying from the cold?

Yes I like looking good and I love the confidence that comes with a good outfit.. but I don’t have time nor the need to do that on days I’m scrubbing the toilet or on days when I just need to make it through..

So yes, I show you REAL outfits.. for REAL women.. who live REAL lives!

Yes I will show you how amazing us apples can look but I am truly just me.. nothing too fancy, not pretending to be anything I’m not..

Hopefully REAL is what most of us strive to be ❤️

You might have heard me talking about wearing black for the right reasons?

Wearing an all black outfit can be soooo elegant but for many of us black also mean “HIDE”!

The association with wearing black is a negative one for many all the while it’s our comfort zone. It’s confusing..

I personally love wearing black but now I make sure I wear it for the right reasons.
It takes a mental effort to shift our mindset but once we do it’s freeing and uplifting.
