There was tension between Irish and English fans on the streets of Dublin before and after yesterday's National League game.
Inside the Aviva Irish fans booed the English national anthem and English fans chanted "no surrender."
Lee Carsley the interim England manager stood by his vow to remain silent during the national anthem. As a result he was branded an 'embarrassment' on social media.
Carsley born in Birmingham played for the Republic of Ireland 40 times at senior international level.
