Almost 400 people have already donated over €19,000 to a GoFundMe campaign set up by Crowleys Music Shop owner Sheena Crowley, which aims to bring Rory Gallagher’s iconic Fender Stratocaster guitar back to Cork 🎸

The guitar is valued at over £1m and is set to be auctioned off to the highest bidder in London this October, but Sheena is determined that it should be returned to its hometown to become the centrepiece of a proposed new music heritage museum.

Sheena’s father Michael originally sold the guitar to the then teenage Rory for £100 in 1961 on an instalment plan.
