Ever since I saw Slyne Head Lighthouse through binoculars from the beach at Ballyconneely a few years ago, I knew I wanted to get a closer look and return during a big swell.
Well yesterday was the day when everything worked out. I made my way out to the peninsula in the early afternoon and after a bit of a trek and a discussion with the farmer that owns the land, I had the green light to do what I pleased. Even though it was low tide at the time, the swell was huge, with the sea spray being brought hundreds of meters by the wind. An exhilarating day by the coast putting the new camera and lens to the test.
