Positive News for Bandon

Bridge street opened today and is looking very well. Works at either end of the street are not completely finished and a temporary surface will remain until a section38 planning is finalised. This section 38 will be advertised in the near future for submissions from the public.
I know there may be some issues here until we all get used to the new layout and pedestrian area.
It's a huge improvement to the Streetscape and will be fantastic for dining out, markets, festivals etc.
Thanks to Cork County Council and the the contractors for the quality of the works.. Maybe we could create something like this and make Bridge street a great colourful destinstion at this side of town!

Every family have been touched by Cancer.
I am running a fundraiser in my office from 5pm-7pm. I am delighted to have Bandon singers group performing.
A raffle for a hamper worth approx €500 is up for grabs.

I very much welcome that CCTV and drones are to be used to help with dumpling and control of rubbish. Some people think they are above the law and don't care about our environment or the communities we live in. Strict rules around data will be enforced.

I'm glad I know of a special individual who carried out a very courageous act while doing his regular job as an electrician.
William Ross dived into the River Lee and helped rescue a lady who was in serious trouble.
As Chairman of The Bandon/Kinsale Municipal District,
I have put forward William's name as a very worthy recipient for a civic reception to acknowledge and thank him for his unselfish heroic life saving deed.
I will host a civic reception in Bandon later this month to honour him.

Big crowds and a great atmosphere at the turning on of the Christmas lights. I hope everyone who got complimentary decorations from our stand today enjoy them. We had great fun decorating them too!
