Equipment: The machine looks like a crawler tractor or skidder with an "integral arch" that is used to lift most of the ends of the log from the ground. This helps reduce resistance and prevents the end of the log from getting stuck when pulled across muddy or rough terrain to a loading point, such as a railway or river.
