"We wanted to convey as broad a taste of the cornucopia of life, natural beauty and human achievement as we could," according to Aronofsky, who created, directed and produced 'Postcard From Earth.' It was lensed with a newly developed camera and opens this fall at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

The Tour de Timor is an annual International Mountain Bike Race held in Timor-Leste. The event was first held in 2009 and was an initiative of HE, the former President of the Republic, José Ramos-Horta, as part of his “Dili – City of Peace” campaign.

Please please watch and enjoy an epic adventure along the amazing Baliem River from it’s source high in the Puncak Jaya mountain range down to the Arafura sea. Well done everyone who devoted so much to making this a reality!

Teman teman di media lokal di Bali dan sekitarnya. Hari ini, Jumat 12 April, Pemerintah Provinsi Bali dan Dinas Peternakan Provinsi akan meluncurkan Misa Anjing Rabies 4 Kampanye Vaksinasi di Bali. Siaran Pers terpasang. Silakan berbagi dan menghadiri.

UNTUK DISIARKAN SEGERA
Putaran keempat vaksinasi massal rabies untuk anjing akan dimulai pada 12 April 2013

Kepala Dinas Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan Provinsi Bali, I Putu Sumantra, mengumumkan bahwa Pemerintah Bali telah siap untuk memulai putaran keempat vaksinasi massal anjing terhadap rabies pada tanggal 12 April. Kampanye di seluruh pulau Bali akan diluncurkan dalam sebuah acara resmi di Gedung Wanita Nari Graha dan saat yang sama Gubernur Bali, I Made Mangku Pastika, akan menerima Piagam Penghargaan (Certificate of Honor) dari Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa sebagai penghargaan atas keberhasilan Provinsi Bali dalam pengendalian rabies dan dukungan yang telah diberikan dalam pemberantasan rabies di Bali.

Sejauh ini kampanye vaksinasi telah mengalami sukses yang luar biasa. Kematian manusia akibat rabies telah menurun drastis sebesar 90% sejak vaksinasi massal anjing dimulai pada bulan Oktober 2010. Penurunan kasus rabies pada manusia didasari oleh penurunan yang signifikan dalam kasus rabies pada anjing.

Namun, rabies masih muncul di Bali. Sumantra mengatakan:
“Saya mengucapkan terimakasih kepada semua pihak, dari Dinas Peternakan dan Dinas Kesehatan yang telah bekerja keras untuk mengendalikan rabies di Bali. Rabies, meskipun berkurang secara signifikan, masih tetap muncul di Bali. Saya meminta masyarakat untuk tetap waspada dan melaporkan kepada Dinas Peternakan setiap perubahan perilaku pada anjing, termasuk anjing yang menggigit.”

Dinas Kesehatan Bali menekankan bahwa setiap orang yang digigit anjing harus mencuci lukanya selama 15 menit dengan sabun dan air mengalir dan segera mengunjungi rumah sakit atau Puskesmas terdekat untuk mendapatkan pengobatan.

Pemerintah Provinsi Bali, dengan dukungan teknis dan pendanaan dari pemerintah pusat, akan memvaksinasi lebih dari 250.000 ekor anjing selama beberapa bulan ke depan dan telah membeli vaksin dengan jumlah yang cukup untuk kegiatan tersebut; anjing akan ditandai dengan kalung khusus sehingga mereka dapat diidentifikasi sebagai anjing yang telah dilindungi terhadap rabies. Organisasi Pangan dan Pertanian Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (FAO) telah bekerja sama dengan Pemerintah Provinsi Bali untuk memastikan bahwa tim pengendalian rabies telah terlatih dan siap mendukung kampanye vaksinasi.

Putaran keempat vaksinasi massal anjing bertujuan untuk menjaga agar Bali tetap berada di jalur yang tepat dalam mewujudkan pemberantasan rabies di pulau ini. Tim respon cepat kabupaten akan terus merespon setiap kasus gigitan dengan melakukan investigasi, respon dan vaksinasi darurat, dan bekerja sama dengan rekan dari Dinas Kesehatan.

Semua anjing dan anak anjing harus divaksinasi. Masyarakat Bali diminta untuk membantu tim vaksinasi dengan menangkap dan memegang anjing mereka untuk divaksinasi dan mengetahui rencana vaksinasi anjing di daerah mereka. Secara khusus, semua anak anjing harus dibawa ke dokter hewan untuk vaksinasi rabies mulai dari umur 2 minggu.

MTV Casting CAll!!!

Jungle Run is Seeking Young Eco-Tourism Activist for MTV short film!

Dear Friends,

We're searching for a character for a short 2-3 minute film we'll be making for MTV’s new online platform ‘Voices’ which will air later in the year around the Rio + 20 Conference focusing on Millennium Development Goals.

We are seeking a young person, (aged 16-25) involved in eco-tourism to tie in with MTV’s theme on Travel and Exploration. Crucially, since our funding is all related to climate change and sustainable development we'll want our character to be involved in activities related to these themes which could be broadly related to - forests, agriculture, energy, gender, health or water. The most important element is that the central character is passionate and engaging and will attract a young audience worldwide.
