Following up their 2023 single “Mazahare,” announces a new EP, Maladies.

“Maladies is a collection of lores and myths from a ruined civilisation, told—and retold—through generations, slowly distorted and altered as they were being passed down,” wrote as we pressed him for blurb this morning.

A gritty return from one of Indonesia’s most important (don’t argue with me cus I’ll lose…) psych/rock/metal acts, nine years after their seminal debut LP Crimson Eyes (2015).In Maladies, Sigmun seems to experiment more with thick, scathing riffs while keeping their signature celestial progression intact. A truly majestic work from the now-duo that opens a whole new chapter in their career.

Maladies EP will be available on vinyl, ready to be preordered on 1 July 2024 (the coming Monday).

Setelah 5 tahun berlalu, kami kembali di situasi yang sama. Memulai dengan suasana hiruk-pikuk tahun politik. Mari sejenak lupakan hiruk-pikuk tersebut dengan sedikit berpesta di babak baru. Dengan kolaborator album baru yang tercinta , juga menghadirkan dan .

Jadilah orang yang pertama menyaksikan album “Ngélar” dibawakan secara live. Sampai bertemu! 🥳

Dari penggambaran kembali kejayaan masa lalu kampung halaman mereka, LAIR (), bersama dengan penyanyi/penulis lagu Monica Hapsari (yang ikut menulis dan mengkomposisi tiga lagu dalam album) dan Go Kurosawa (.moyo) yang memimpin sebagai produser, menyanyikan tentang ritual dan tradisi panen, mengirim doa kepada tanah yang pernah makmur dan reruntuhan dari apa yang dulu adalah hutan lebat di Jatiwangi – yang saat ini mereka coba untuk ambil kembali sambil bersaing dengan gelombang industrialisasi yang masif.

Ngélar adalah album yang pilu sebanyak itu adalah perayaan ceria dan jujur dari kehidupan sehari-hari anggotanya yang tinggal di di pantai utara Jawa Barat, Indonesia, saat ini.

We are digitally releasing the compilation alongside (DE), (BR), and (AU), containing a total of 107 tracks that we have screened from the hulking 147 submissions.

We repeat our demand for a ceasefire and the release of hostages to make way for grief and peace.

Currently, 100% of proceeds will be diverted privately to a women’s centre in Gaza with funds being used to distribute dignity kits directly to displaced women and families there.

In light of the intensified, deaths of innocent people civilians occurring between Gaza and Israel since October 7th, 2023 we - as multiple labels, artists and collectives - have cooperated to raise our collective voice in demanding an immediate ceasefire and release of hostages.

We yearn for a feminist response to a crisis that has been on the political agenda for longer than any of us have been alive, creating trauma upon trauma. We want to work toward peace and freedom of all civilians and it begins in Gaza.

If you would like to purchase the compilation, 100% of the proceeds will go directly to supporting the distribution of dignity kits directly on the ground, to affected women and families in Gaza.

This compilation is one of the most direct ways - as artists, musicians and sound workers - we can take to address and speak to the atrocities unfolding.

Please ignite your compassion and empathy by thinking of others.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: In light of the intensified, genocide occuring in Gaza since October 7th, 2023 we are cooperating to launch an album compilation to raise funds and send aid directly to the Center for Women’s Legal Research, Counseling and Protection, an active, on-the-ground organization in Gaza.

100% of the proceeds will go directly to women and families in need.

The compilation will be released (digital-only) on Bandcamp, November 17th.
