๐๐ข๐ค๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข ๐ฎ ๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฅ๐ฎ posljednje je poglavlje trilogije radova britanske umjetnice Zoe Williams, koja je zapoฤela njezinom samostalnom izloลพbom Fondant, a nastavila se performansom Smears of the Night (Society in Disguise), koji je izvela u suradnji s umjetnicom Nadjom Voorham. Kroz ovu trilogiju Williams je kreirala niz atmosferiฤnih, pomno osmiลกljenih scena koje uobliฤavaju njezin kontinuirani interes za istraลพivanje pojmova campa, klase, ukusa, ekscesa i erotike.
Ciklusi u paklu je zavrลกni ฤin trilogije i biljeลพi polagano propadanje nekoฤ dekadentnih interijera i intimnih identiteta. Rad kao da sadrลพi aluzije na dramatiฤne dogaฤaje ฤiji su likovi nestali, ali njihova prisutnost i dalje se nasluฤuje u prostoru, pretoฤena u predmete, mirise i zvukove. Cjelokupni ambijent je istovremeno mraฤan, teatralan, opojan i jezovit. Samotna pozornica Zoe Williams slikovito biljeลพi fragmente intimnosti โ intenzivne odnose, propusne granice, mrlje i curenje โ doslovno i metaforiฤko โ koji pleลกu na tankoj granici izmeฤu stapanja i oskvrnuฤa. Takoฤer svjedoฤimo bolnom razoฤaranju, gubitku i otuฤenju, sve obojeno razornom melankolijom koja je istovremeno neodoljiva i nepodnoลกljiva.
๐๐จ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ฆ๐ฌ (r. 1983.) ลฝivi i radi na relaciji MarseilleโLondon. U svom radu koristi ลกirok raspon medija, ukljuฤujuฤi instalaciju, pokretne slike, keramiku, crteลพ i izvedbu, a proces i ishod ฤesto su suradniฤki. Istraลพuje neverbalne naฤine komunikacije i tjelesna ponaลกanja, koja povezuju neizgovorene, ฤesto zavodljive namjere koje se nalaze u srลพi ljudskih odnosa. Kroz ova istraลพivanja, kreira intiman dijalog na temu seksualnosti, moฤi i ลพelje, i to kroz pokvirenu, feministiฤku prizmu. Zastupa je galerija Ciaccia Levi, Pariz-Milan.

๐๐๐๐ฌ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ marks the final chapter in a trilogy of works by British artist Zoe Williams, which began with her solo exhibition Fondant (Friche la Belle de Mai, Marseille, 2023) and was followed by the performance Smears of the Night (Society in Disguise), (a collaboration between Williams and artist Nadja Voorham at the Museum of Art and History, Geneva, 2024). Through this trilogy, Williams has created a series of โโimmersive, crafted cinematic environments, which play with her ongoing interest in exploring the notions of camp, class, taste, excess, and eroticism.
Seasons in Hell represents the final, declining act of the trilogy, capturing the slow decay of once decadent interiors and intimate selves. It seems to hint at the aftermath of dramatic events whose characters have vanished, yet their heady presence remains palpable in the space, transfigured into objects, scent, and sound. The overall ambiance is simultaneously dark, theatrical, intoxicating, and eerie. Zoe Williams' solitary stage vividly captures fragments of intimacy โ intense connections, permeable boundaries, smudges, and leakages โ both literal and metaphorical โ teetering on the fine line between fusion and contamination. It also witnesses painful disenchantment, loss, and alienation, with a crumbling melancholy that is overwhelming as much as it is unbearable.
๐๐จ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ฆ๐ฌ (b. 1983) Lives and works between Marseille and London. Her practice incorporates a wide range of media including installation, moving image, ceramics, drawing, and performance, and is often collaborative in its process and outcome. Through her work, she explores the non-verbal means of communication and physical behaviours, which connect the unspoken, often seductive intentions underlying human relations. Through these explorations, and using a queered feminist lens, she creates an intimate dialogue around s*x, power, and desire. She is represented by the Ciaccia Levi Gallery, Paris-Milan.
