"Česta tema Teovog rada jest tehno-trans-maskulinitet, koji povezuje s idejom nečistog, neuređenog tijela koje ruši granice normativnih rodnih narativa. No važno je napomenuti da Teovi radovi nisu isključivo o trans iskustvu iako je to jedan tjelesni i iskustveni početak. Izložba 𝐍𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢 predstavlja radove sedam umjetni⁞ka koji prihvaćaju, preispituju i/li otkrivaju nove i drugačije oblike privrženosti i veza unutar različitih društvenih struktura i odnosa u koje smo uključen⁞i. Pruža prostor za preispitivanje i napuštanje poznatih odnosa. Odabrani projekti tematiziraju naš međusobno povezani svijet te njegovu nesposobnost prepoznavanja potencijala novih ili ranije zanemarivanih vrsta bliskosti. Čini se da je istraživanje novih i smislenih načina pripadanja, povezivanja ili uspostavljanja bliskosti preduvjet življenja i, nadamo se, pomirenja naših ranjenih svjetova.

The exhibition 𝐓𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐝 presents works of seven artists who embrace, challenge or rediscover various forms of attachments and connections within different social structures and relationships we are involved in. It provides space to reassess and move beyond familiar ties. Selected projects observe our interconnected world and its failure to acknowledge potential of new kinships or previously neglected ones. Exploring new and meaningful ways to belong, connect, or experience closeness seems like a prerequisite of living and hopefully reconciling our damaged world(s).

'During this intensive and intimate workshop, we will try to get to the essence of the participants’ work, focus on the editing and how to present the projects to the world. Each participant will choose one long term and ongoing project on which they want to focus. In this active and collaborative approach, we are all going to participate in the editing of each other’s projects.'

The workshop explores the radicalising potential of images in the digital realm, delving into questions about the ethical use of visuals in the seemingly democratic online landscape. In particular, we will look at the role of humour in spreading the alt-right ideology online. While humour is an element integral to social media, it is also often used to silence, discriminate or otherwise express violence, particularly against historically marginalised groups. The workshop addresses the challenges faced by digital platforms in recognising the harms derived from humour, especially due to its ambiguous nature.

► 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐒̌𝐨𝐬̌𝐤𝐢𝐜́: 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 - 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧

As a professional photographer on one side and a researcher on the other, Katarina Šoškić argues that a photographer always acts from a place of knowing, while the researcher is driven by not knowing yet. These two seemingly opposed forces and the dichotomy they establish will be elaborated further during the workshop. There is a sort of confidence that every photographer needs to perform with, either in the area of technical knowledge, social skills, or the ideas and messages they want to communicate, which often lean on the hierarchy and relations of power between the photographer, the photographed, and the spectators. On the contrary, to admit ‘not knowing’ as a driving force is a place of vulnerability.

Art in Action is an interdisciplinary and cross-sector workshop addressed to artists, art professionals, curators, producers working at festivals, museums, galleries, and individuals working in the visual art sector, who wish to enhance their knowledge and practical skills to address social and environmental concerns and new sustainable practices. The workshop is designed as an open space technology (OST). The main purpose of the method is to generate, co-create, and exchange new solutions. Project is co-created by Ci.CLO, while the workshop is led by Krzysztof Candrowicz in collaboration with Utopias Lahti Visual Arts Festival Lahti, Finland.

'When thinking about addiction in pathological terms, one quickly associates pharmacological responses: cures, support groups, abstinence. But, what is it that fuels addictions? Is it really only sugar, golf, work, drugs that make us o- or aholics? Does sustainable addiction treatment lie in sobering up or in a conscious dosage of the “substance”? In the frame of the a-/o-holics groups we would like to think of these relationships as markers of sociological, political and even philosophical standpoints or tendencies and repurpose them to obtain a critical view on compulsive and disorderly relations. We will employ techniques and methods borrowed from popular addiction treatments (like support groups and 12-step-programs) to deal with four relevant concepts: 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞, 𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲.'

Kao dobitnik nagrade Marina Viculin za iznimna postignuća na području suvremene fotografije u Hrvatskoj koju dodjeljuje fotografska organizacija Organ Vida, Ivan Buvinić predstavit će se na 13. izdanju festivala s novom fotografskom serijom ID_75 kojom spekulativno smješta intimna sjećanja u prostor grada u kojem je odrastao.

Instalacija dokumentira propadanje nekoć dekadentnih interijera i osobnih priča koje su se u njima odvijale; mračne je teatralne, jezive, no istovremeno i opojne atmosfere kojom dominira bo***ir okupan dramatičnim svjetlom, slatkim, intenzivnim mirisima i prigušenim zvukovima te s mnoštvom razasutih keramičkih skulptura u obliku noćnih posuda za mokrenje, rokoko cipelica, pladnjeva s dijelovima ljudskog tijela, ogledala. Teško je razaznati je li scena koju zatječemo bila poprište žestoke ljubavne svađe, požudne afere ili nečeg mnogo zlokobnijeg..

Umjetnica Zoe Williams u svom radu živopisno bilježi fragmente intimnosti i intenzivnih veza koji svjedoče o bolnom razočaranju, gubitku i otuđenju, s dominantnom melankolijom koja je i neodoljiva i nepodnošljiva.

𝐈𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜́: 𝐈𝐃_𝟕𝟓

Ivan Buvinić u novom radu 𝐈𝐃_𝟕𝟓 spekulativno situira intimna sjećanja u prostor grada u kojem je odrastao. Radovi su nastajali tijekom protekle godine, kada se umjetnik pri svakom posjetu rodnom gradu svjesno suočavao s poznatim, potisnutim ili otuđenim. Umjetnik intuitivno bilježi prostor vodeći se vizualnim asocijacijama koje navode na autorefleksiju. Umjesto dokumentarnog pristupa odabranim lokacijama, on ih koristi kao okidače za detekciju memorijskih tragova. Objekti na fotografijama postaju markeri osobne mikro povijesti te su ujedno motivi koji simboliziraju događaje iz fragmentiranih sjećanja.

Rad ID_75 nastaje kroz proces mentalne rekonstrukcije u okviru koje se manifestiraju emotivne vizualne reakcije na poznati prostor. Umjetnik je posvećen predanom intimnom “iskapanju" koje rezultira kolažiranjem krhotina, fragmenata i tragova. Rad afirmira nelagodna sjećanja koja se potom pretaču u urbanu noćnu kontemplaciju, suptilno otkrivajući osobnu i prostornu transgresiju.

𝐈𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜́ (1994., Šibenik) je fotograf čija praksa proizlazi iz autobiografskog konteksta, ispreplićući teme sjećanja, iskustva i imaginarnog. Godine 2022. postaje članom europske fotografske platforme Futures Photography, a 2023. godine dobiva nagradu Marina Viculin za iznimna postignuća na području suvremene fotografije u Hrvatskoj, koju dodjeljuje fotografska organizacija Organ Vida. Realizirao je nekoliko samostalnih, te sudjelovao na nekoliko grupnih izložbi u Hrvatskoj i inozemstvu. Živi i radi u Zagrebu.

In his new work 𝐈𝐃_𝟕𝟓, 𝐈𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜́ speculatively situates intimate memories within the city where he grew up. The works were created over the past year, during which the artist consciously confronted what is familiar, repressed, or alienated. He intuitively captures the space, guided by visual associations that prompt self-reflection. Rather than opting for a documentary approach, he uses the chosen locations as triggers for detecting the traces of memory. The objects in the photographs become markers of a personal micro-history and serve as motifs that symbolize events from fragmented memories.

ID_75 is the result of the process of mental reconstruction in which emotional visual reactions to familiar spaces are manifested. The artist engages in a deeply personal "excavation", piecing together a collage of scraps, fragments, and traces. The work affirms uneasy memories, which then flow into urban nightly contemplation, subtly revealing personal and spatial transgressions.

𝐈𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜́ (1994., Šibenik) is a contemporary photographer whose practice emerges from an autobiographical context, intertwining themes of memory, experience, and the imaginary. In 2022, he became a member of the European photographic platform Futures Photography. In 2023, he received the Marina Viculin Award for outstanding achievements in the field of contemporary photography in Croatia, presented by the photographic organization Organ Vida. He has had several solo and group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. He currently lives and works in Zagreb.

𝐙𝐨𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐬: 𝐂𝐢𝐤𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢 𝐮 𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐥𝐮 / 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥

𝐂𝐢𝐤𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢 𝐮 𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐥𝐮 posljednje je poglavlje trilogije radova britanske umjetnice Zoe Williams, koja je započela njezinom samostalnom izložbom Fondant, a nastavila se performansom Smears of the Night (Society in Disguise), koji je izvela u suradnji s umjetnicom Nadjom Voorham. Kroz ovu trilogiju Williams je kreirala niz atmosferičnih, pomno osmišljenih scena koje uobličavaju njezin kontinuirani interes za istraživanje pojmova campa, klase, ukusa, ekscesa i erotike.

Ciklusi u paklu je završni čin trilogije i bilježi polagano propadanje nekoć dekadentnih interijera i intimnih identiteta. Rad kao da sadrži aluzije na dramatične događaje čiji su likovi nestali, ali njihova prisutnost i dalje se naslućuje u prostoru, pretočena u predmete, mirise i zvukove. Cjelokupni ambijent je istovremeno mračan, teatralan, opojan i jezovit. Samotna pozornica Zoe Williams slikovito bilježi fragmente intimnosti — intenzivne odnose, propusne granice, mrlje i curenje — doslovno i metaforičko — koji plešu na tankoj granici između stapanja i oskvrnuća. Također svjedočimo bolnom razočaranju, gubitku i otuđenju, sve obojeno razornom melankolijom koja je istovremeno neodoljiva i nepodnošljiva.

𝐙𝐨𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐬 (r. 1983.) Živi i radi na relaciji Marseille–London. U svom radu koristi širok raspon medija, uključujući instalaciju, pokretne slike, keramiku, crtež i izvedbu, a proces i ishod često su suradnički. Istražuje neverbalne načine komunikacije i tjelesna ponašanja, koja povezuju neizgovorene, često zavodljive namjere koje se nalaze u srži ljudskih odnosa. Kroz ova istraživanja, kreira intiman dijalog na temu seksualnosti, moći i želje, i to kroz pokvirenu, feminističku prizmu. Zastupa je galerija Ciaccia Levi, Pariz-Milan.

𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥 marks the final chapter in a trilogy of works by British artist Zoe Williams, which began with her solo exhibition Fondant (Friche la Belle de Mai, Marseille, 2023) and was followed by the performance Smears of the Night (Society in Disguise), (a collaboration between Williams and artist Nadja Voorham at the Museum of Art and History, Geneva, 2024). Through this trilogy, Williams has created a series of ​​immersive, crafted cinematic environments, which play with her ongoing interest in exploring the notions of camp, class, taste, excess, and eroticism.

Seasons in Hell represents the final, declining act of the trilogy, capturing the slow decay of once decadent interiors and intimate selves. It seems to hint at the aftermath of dramatic events whose characters have vanished, yet their heady presence remains palpable in the space, transfigured into objects, scent, and sound. The overall ambiance is simultaneously dark, theatrical, intoxicating, and eerie. Zoe Williams' solitary stage vividly captures fragments of intimacy — intense connections, permeable boundaries, smudges, and leakages — both literal and metaphorical — teetering on the fine line between fusion and contamination. It also witnesses painful disenchantment, loss, and alienation, with a crumbling melancholy that is overwhelming as much as it is unbearable.

𝐙𝐨𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐬 (b. 1983) Lives and works between Marseille and London. Her practice incorporates a wide range of media including installation, moving image, ceramics, drawing, and performance, and is often collaborative in its process and outcome. Through her work, she explores the non-verbal means of communication and physical behaviours, which connect the unspoken, often seductive intentions underlying human relations. Through these explorations, and using a queered feminist lens, she creates an intimate dialogue around s*x, power, and desire. She is represented by the Ciaccia Levi Gallery, Paris-Milan.

We are looking forward to welcoming young artists and platform members coming to Zagreb.

For three days, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟔-𝟐𝟖, almost one hundred artists, twenty curators and heads of major international contemporary photography institutions will meet with the aim of building relationships, discussing the issues of our time and feeling increasingly part of a strong community based on contemporary photography.

During the event we will open 𝐓𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐝, an exhibition with FUTURES artists as part of the 13th edition of Organ Vida festival. Along with the exhibition, the FUTURES publication 𝐓𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐝: 𝐅𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐎𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 will be launched.

Ovaj dokumentarni projekt prikazuje skupinu mladića s kojima se umjetnica sprijateljila u distopijskom kompleksu u Ohiju. Projekt se bavi nasiljem kao oblikom katarze, istovremeno preispitujući i afirmirajući ponašanja koje se na prvu mogu doimati destruktivnim ili antisocijalnim. Kranitz na različite načine obrađuje složenu dinamiku moći između dokumentatorice i "subjekata". Fotografije tematiziraju zamagljene granice između užitka i patnje, požude i obožavanja, prijateljstva i kontrole.

Radeći u dokumentarističkoj tradiciji, 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐊𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐳 radi fotografije koje priznaju granice fotografske reprezentacije. Njezine slike ne govore "istinu", već su iskrene o svojim inherentnim nedostacima i prihvaćaju te neuspjehe (egzotičnost, dvosmislenost, fetišizacija) kao simpatične ekvivalente kako bi snažnije prenijele složenost i nestabilnost života, mjesta i trenutaka koje prikazuju.

This documentary project depicts a group of young men the artist befriended at a dystopian compound in Ohio. Through this project, she explores violence as a form of catharsis—both questioning and validating behavior that may initially seem destructive or anti-social. Kranitz delves into the complex power dynamics between the documenter and the "subject" in various ways. The photographs focus on the blurred lines between pleasure and suffering, lust and adoration, friendship and control.

Working within the documentary tradition, 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐊𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐳 makes photographs that acknowledge the limits of photographic representation. Her images do not tell the “truth” but are honest about their inherent shortcomings, and thus reclaim these failures (exoticism, ambiguity, fetishization) as sympathetic equivalents in order to more forcefully convey the complexity and instability of the lives, places, and moments they depict.

Umjetnica tematizira suvremene spiritualne prakse kombinirajući povijesne i pop kulturne reference. Intrigantni motivi njezinog rada, poput drevnih animističkih vjerovanja, psihofizičkog fenomena paralize sna, ritualne simbolike ruku i tijela tijekom spiritističkih seansi i učestalog motiva ektoplazme, prikazani su kroz fotografiju kako bi oslobodili skrivenu energiju i propitali stabilnost naizgled nam poznatih prostora. Građanski domovi druge polovice 19. stoljeća u kojima su se odvijale takve seanse funkcioniraju kao kazališne pozornice na kojima napokon mogu nastupiti paranormalni (ne)ljudski glumci.

𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐬𝐤𝐚 (Poljska) vizualna je umjetnica, povjesničarka umjetnosti, istraživačica, novinarka i kustosica koja živi u Varšavi. U svom radu istražuje ispreplitanje svakodnevnog života s magijom i okultnim.

The artist delves into modern spiritual practices by blending historical and pop culture references. The intriguing motifs of her work – such as ancient animistic beliefs, the psychophysical phenomenon of sleep paralysis, the ritualistic symbol of hands and body during spiritistic séances and the recurring motif of ectoplasm, are shown through photography to reveal hidden energies and question the stability of seemingly familiar spaces. The bourgeoisie homes of the second half of the 19th century in which those sessions occurred function as theater stages where paranormal (non)human actors can finally perform.

𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐬𝐤𝐚 (Poland) is a visual artist, art historian, researcher, journalist, and curator based in Warsaw, Poland. Her work explores the intersection of everyday life with magic and the occult. She also runs an independent art space Windowlicker.

Rad 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐤𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐣𝐮𝐜́𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐤𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐞 fotografska je sekvenca koja nastaje uslijed instinktivne izvedbe koja istražuje ljudsko tijelo u odnosu na svoje neposredno okruženje. Tijelo je shvaćeno kao propusno, promjenjivo i kadro u drugome – tijelu ili okolišu – izazvati promjenu. Vidimo tjelesne tekućine kako se nježno upijaju, razmazuju i prelijevaju po prstima, kamenju i mineralima, baš kao što se strana tijela s lakoćom utiskuju u meko tkivo. Seksualizirani pokreti ruku aludiraju na užitak i ekstazu te na bol i nasilje. Brišući ili zamagljujući granice između vanjskog i unutarnjeg, organskog i anorganskog te ugode i neugode, rad ‘Visokovibrirajuće frekvencije’ pokazuje da sirovost i senzualnost, baš kao i lijepo i ružno, mogu koegzistirati kao dva aspekta tjelesnog i gledateljskog užitka.

𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲 (1993., Švicarska) umjetnica je i fotografkinja koja živi u Fribourgu u Švicarskoj. 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐕𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 is a photographic sequence that emerges from an instinctive performance exploring the human body in relation to its immediate environment. The body is depicted as permeable, mutable, and capable of inducing change in another – be it body or environment. We observe bodily fluids delicately absorbed, smeared, and dripping over fingers, stones, and minerals, just as foreign objects easily imprint into soft tissue. The s*xualized hand movements allude to both pleasure and ecstasy, as well as pain and violence. By blurring or erasing the boundaries between the external and internal, organic and inorganic, pleasure and discomfort, High Vibrations Frequencies demonstrates that rawness and sensuality, like beauty and ugliness, can coexist as two congruent aspects of bodily and viewer pleasure.

𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲 (1993, Switzerland) is an artist and photographer living in Fribourg, Switzerland. Through installation, photography and video, she creates visual worlds where the limits between desire and repulsion are porous and confronting. Inspired by organic materials and bodies, her work focuses on temporality, gestures and sensations, searching the boundaries between attraction and repulsion, beauty and dizziness.

𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜̌𝐤𝐢 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐥 je solo performans u formi grozničave erupcije konstrukcije identiteta. Riječ je o tekstualnom preopterećenju koje inspiraciju crpi iz jezika muških online časopisa, iz snovitih slika i nasilnog procesa strateškog ovladavanja vlastitim tijelom. Nastoji artikulirati labirint fantazija, nemirnih noći i utjecaja kategoričkog pogleda na nenormativno tijelo, uspoređujući pogled publike s nadzirućim pogledima u javnim prostorima.

U okviru izvedbe, transmaskulino tijelo shvaćeno je kao teritorij nekompatibilan s hegemonijskim maskulinim narativima – prostor u kojem se kapitalistički ideali optimiziranog ‘ja’ počinju urušavati.

Anabolički spektakl je suradnička kreacija umjetnika performansa Tea Ala-Ruone i dramaturga_inje Even Minn.

𝐓𝐞𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐚-𝐑𝐮𝐨𝐧𝐚 je umjetnik performansa koji živi u Helsinkiju. U svom radu istražuje potencijal somatske fikcije da oblikuje našu percepciju ljudskog tijela i njegove tehnološke suštine, kao i psihofizičkih krajnosti. Njegovi radovi tematiziraju isprepletenost lingvističke, semiotičke, tehnološke i biološke egzistencije, istražujući tehno-trans-maskulinitet, seksualnost i eko-normativne narative o "prirodnosti" kombinirajući autobiografske i teorijske tekstove, znanstvena istraživanja, fikciju i tjelesne vježbe.

𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐞 is a solo performance in the form of a feverish eruption of identity construction. It's a textual overload, drawing inspiration from the language of men's online magazines, dreamlike imagery, and a violent process of strategic mastering of one's own body. It seeks to articulate a labyrinthe of fantasies, restless nights and the impact of the categorical gaze on a non-normative body, comparing the audience's gaze to the scrutinizing stares in public spaces. The performance sees the transmasculine body as an incompatible territory for hegemonic masculine narratives – a realm where the capitalist ideals of the optimized self begin to crumble.

Anabolic Spectacle is a collaborative creation between performance artist Teo Ala-Ruona and dramaturg Even Minn.

𝐓𝐞𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐚-𝐑𝐮𝐨𝐧𝐚 is a performance artist based in Helsinki. In his work, he explores the possibilities of somatic fiction to influence our perceptions of the human body, its technological essence, and psycho-physical extremes. His works investigate the intertwining of linguistic, semiotic, technological, and biological existence, exploring techno-trans-masculinity, s*xuality, and eco-normative narratives of "naturalness." He examines these by interweaving autobiographical and theoretical texts, scientific research, fiction, and bodily exercises.

IZ MEDIJA: Muzej suvremene umjetnosti u Zagrebu bit će domaćin 13. izdanja Međunarodnog festivala Organ Vida, koji okuplja suvremene umjetnike u mediju fotografije i njezinim proširenim oblicima.
