FINAL CALL! Hong Kong Grand Opera is bringing Hansel and Gretel to the Kwai Tsing Theatre Auditorium from November 22 to 23. In this brand-new production of Engelbert Humperdinck’s catchy three-act opera, two siblings become fascinated by a beautiful candy house and fall into the hands of an evil witch. The magic of the Grimm tale comes to life in this fairy-tale opera and, as per operatic tradition, the role of Hansel is played by a female singer. The third Peng Chau Island Swimming Race 2024 will be held on October 1, Tuesday, National Day.

This cross-sea swimming race is the third event in the 2024 cross-sea swimming series of the Hong Kong Crossing Tour Group. The biggest feature is that in addition to providing 1700-meter and 3400-meter experience and middle distance, it also provides a "half-marathon" 5500-meter course suitable for all levels of swimmers.

According to Ms. Lai, one of the organizers of the swimming competition, "Pingzhou has clear water and sports venues, making it suitable for cross-sea swimming."

Registration for the Peng Chau Island Swimming Race Week will start on Tuesday, September 3.

YAMA Foundation, a Hong Kong nonprofit dedicated to delivering
yoga, arts and meditation therapies to vulnerable communities, is holding its first fundraising gala on 21 September 2024. The event includes yoga, brunch, games and entertainment, with all proceeds going to fund an Accessible Wellbeing Centre, fully equipped for people with disabilities and special
needs.

Since 2016, YAMA Foundation has been making wellbeing accessible - both physically and financially - to people who need it most. Namely: people with disabilities and special needs, people with neurodivergence, people with mental health challenges, and people living in poverty.

“So far, we’ve been renting other people’s spaces across the city, working around their schedules for our community classes,” says Hersha Chellaram, YAMA Foundation Co-founder and Executive Director. “But with growing demand for our services, it's been more and more difficult to find venues
that are accessible and available.” “We’ve struggled to find venues with accessible entrances and toilets, and have had to cancel classes due to broken lifts. The spaces themselves are often cluttered and distracting for students with ADHD. And we spend a great deal of time navigating the schedules of venues and students,” she continues.

“That time would be better spent supporting more people. We’ve reached a point where we need to open our own centre, fully accessible and purpose-built for the people we serve.”

If you would like to attend the fundraising event, visit https://yamahk.org/latest-news/2024/7/25/back-to-wellbeing-2024-yoga-brunch-fundraising-event . If you're unable to attend but would like to support YAMA’s goal of opening Hong Kong’s first Accessible Wellbeing Centre, you are welcome to donate at https://give.asia/campaign/back-to-wellbeing-2024 #/story
