If you are still juggling plans for the days after Christmas, this one is worth a proper look.

KYD Theatre’s winter camp turns The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch into eight days of focused, joyful theatre-making.

Children aged 5–12 rehearse and stage a full production inside the Studio Theatre at Fringe Club, working with real lights, a real audience and a final performance for friends and family.

Each three-hour session blends acting, voice, movement, writing and design, guided by professional teaching artists who know how to stretch confident performers while gently drawing out quieter ones.

Thoughtfully run with small groups, sensory-friendly options and multilingual support. And if you are wondering, KYD stands for Kill Your Darlings, the old creative idea about being brave enough to let go and try something true.

📍 Fringe Club, Central
📅 26 December 2025 to 2 January 2026
🕙 Ages 5–8 (10am–1pm) | Ages 9–12 (1pm–4pm)
💰 HK$6,480

Also worth noting for older children: KYD’s Speak Your Truth public speaking programme (12+) blends LAMDA foundations with TED-style storytelling to build confident, authentic communication.

One of the most talked-about openings of 2025, Jean-Pierre has quickly established itself as a lively homage to the great Parisian bistros, brought to life by Black Sheep Restaurants.

We finally made it down to Bridges Street to see what the excitement was about. The room hums from the moment you arrive, all red velvet banquettes, Art Deco flourishes and a sense that dinner here is meant to linger. Classic French dishes anchor the menu, from steak tartare and soupe à l’oignon to boeuf bourguignon and tableside crêpes suzette, while confident, old-school service and a crowd that clearly came to have fun give the restaurant its momentum.

This is French bistro dining as celebration rather than nostalgia, generous, lightly theatrical and designed for evenings that stretch well past dessert.

Favourites may be off the record, but as we begin closing out our best-of-2025 lists, this stands out as one of the most memorable meals of the year.

Thank you

Mondrian Hong Kong is not a hotel you retreat from the city in. It is one you become fully immersed in.

Mornings begin high above Victoria Harbour with a slow-paced à la carte breakfast at Avoca, now something of a rarity, accompanied by expansive views across Hong Kong in every direction.

Downstairs, The Corner Shop, Mondrian’s street-level art space, hosts a rotating programme of exhibitions that reflect the energy of the city and naturally spark conversation.

Back up high, weekend brunch at Carna by Dario Cecchini, designed by Joyce Wang, is generous and unhurried, rooted in Cecchini’s nose-to-tail philosophy and best enjoyed with friends and a long view over the harbour.

Confident, social and quietly playful, Mondrian feels closely tuned to the rhythm of Hong Kong. Designed to be lived in, not just looked at, and made warmer still by a genuinely friendly team. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will most certainly be back.

Thank you thanks for the great breakfast experience and for the incredible bunch (we’re already rebooking for bunch!) and thank you for arranging our stay.

The thing about staying at The Langham, Hong Kong in December is how quickly the outside world fades.

One moment you’re on Canton Road; the next, you’re looking up at the hotel’s pink 160th-anniversary tree.

Upstairs, the traditional suite offer the reset December always seems to demand — Diptyque baths, a film above the fireplace and, at one point, a knock on the door delivering the hotel’s Signature Gin with mixers and nibbles.

Palm Court adds the festive note with its Chow Sang Sang afternoon tea: jewel-like pastries, warm scones and a Chow Sang Sang jewellery box , served until the end of December.

If you’re considering a winter reset, let this be a small nudge.

Thank you for a perfect weekend.
