Adding to Fong’s views is Lierence Li, managing director of Market Hubs, who said that offline AI chatbots help solve the data privacy issue by generative AI chatbots.

“Offline AI chatbots don’t need all data to generate answers. Instead, they just need their own existing databases and can produce custom-made messages as well. Developers can update their database and train their data from time to time,” Li said.

Meanwhile, the watchdog said it had not received any complaints regarding ChatGPT-related data leak issues.

🤖 Just tried Baidu's Ernie Bot #文心一言: First Impressions 🧐
I just had a quick trial of Ernie Bot, the AI offering from Baidu. Here's what I observed in my first 15 minutes of using it:

1) Speed: Not as fast as expected - it seems there's room for improvement.
2) Consistency: The results were a bit hit or miss, but it's still early days.
3) Input Limitations: Unlike ChatGPT, Ernie Bot has a text limit that doesn't allow pasting full articles.

Additionally, Microsoft is introducing Business Chat, which works across the LLM, Microsoft 365 apps, and user data to provide an entirely new experience. Copilot enables users to be more creative and efficient in their work while allowing them to retain full control over the final output.

Microsoft ensures enterprise-ready AI through the Copilot System, which is grounded in users' business data and has built-in security, compliance, and privacy features. The system is designed to learn new skills and adapt to users' needs. Microsoft is committed to building responsibly, guided by their AI principles and Responsible AI Standard. Some customers faced issues redeeming their NFTs due to frontline staff being unfamiliar with the process.

As tech evolves, the basics can't be ignored. No matter how advanced the technology, UI/UX and customer experience must come first.

Welcome government's initiative to study the use of AI models like ChatGPT to improve government services as reported in recent news articles. While has already started piloting ChatGPT to assist civil servants in research and speech writing, it is not too late for Hong Kong to start exploring the value that AI language models can bring.

Rather than banning the use of AI models like what Hong Kong Baptist University and Hong Kong University did recently due to plagiarism concerns, we should embrace the technology and find ways to leverage them responsibly. With proper guidelines and monitoring, AI models can take over tedious and repetitive tasks, freeing up humans to work on higher-order problems. This can enhance work efficiency and offer timely insights, which are critical for government work.

As AI continues to advance rapidly, Hong Kong must keep up with the pace to transform our public services and not miss out on the opportunities that AI can bring. Studying and piloting AI models like ChatGPT is a good first step. I look forward to seeing more applications of AI to improve services for our community.

🚀 Hong Kong is moving towards a digital future, and we're excited to see the government investing in key areas such as the digital economy and Web3! However, we urge them to do more to win the race and stay ahead of the curve.

💻 The government's plan to conduct a feasibility study on the development of an Artificial Intelligence Supercomputing Centre and to earmark $500 million for a Digital Transformation Support Pilot Programme are steps in the right direction. We also welcome the proposal to provide tax deductions for telecommunications network operators, which will help improve the telecommunications infrastructure in Hong Kong.

🌐 In addition, the allocation of $50 million to expedite the development of the Web3 ecosystem and the setting up of a task force to advise on the sustainable development of the virtual asset industry are important initiatives to promote innovation and growth.

👍 While we appreciate these efforts, we believe that more needs to be done to keep up with the pace of technological development and to ensure that Hong Kong remains competitive in the global arena. Let's invest more in technology and embrace the future together!

While AI may automate tasks, the true potential lies in artificial general intelligence (AGI). However, today's AI chatbots are limited in scope and capability. They cannot truly understand the world or empathize with human emotions.

I dream of a future where AI can learn and understand, solve complex problems and change the world for the better. But we're still far from achieving true AGI.

How can we communicate more effectively with AI systems? As artificial intelligence takes on more capabilities and roles in our lives, communication is crucial. Here are some tips for talking with AI:

• Be specific and direct. AI understands explicit statements better than subtle hints.
• Avoid ambiguity. Context is key! Provide details to help AI understand.
• Check for understanding. Ask AI if it understood before relying on the response.
• Be patient and persistent. You may need to rephrase or ask a few times. AI is improving but still limited.
• Stay human. Communicate naturally as much as possible instead of adapting to AI.

Better communication can help us improve AI and better work with the technologies shaping our future. But we need to bring our human voices into the conversation.
