We created a collaborative graffiti mural by integrating visual media with traditional research methods! We have not only documented but viscerally engaged with the community, highlighting its complex narrative with unapologetic clarity. Our project combines anthropology, architecture and oral history archives to explore Kessariani’s rich histories in public space.

Kessariani 22 Community Mural: Oral, Archival and Spatial (Hi)stories

We have been working for quite some time on creating a multimodal research project combining anthropology and architecture methodologies! Urban walks, oral history archives, and collaborative workshops have been some of our tools to foster urban awareness, shared experiences, and an understanding of diverse perspectives. We explored further how to engage with communities creatively, integrate visual media into research, and communicate findings effectively.
