Following the great success of Cybercrime - Security Forum 08, IT Pro Connections 2009 and ITPro|DevConnections 2010, 2011 and 2012, this year we are going to be even better. autoexec.gr community, the largest Hellenic community for IT Pros in collaboration with dotNETZone.gr, the most powerful community of developers, will present an event with four parallel tracks! One with an IT Pro agenda and

one for application development with .NET technologies, always with the same, purely technical orientation. The event will last 2 days, in a new multi-purpose venue that will easily accommodate all of us. We will be waiting for you on November 27th and 28th, 2010 in the National Bank of Greece Training and Conference Centre! We unite our strengths and we get bigger and bigger ...

The event is solely addressed to IT professionals and developers, who, due to their limited time are seeking immediate and practical application of information. Forum’s identity :

What is autoexec.gr ? The activity of autoexec.gr community started on December 2005 as an on-line community for the Greek IT Professionals, serving the purpose to provide useful information, to all members of the community and support in the development of professional recognition for the certified professionals. The community has become the key reference point for Greek IT Pros allowing its members to discuss all the issues of their interest within a civilized online environment. The members of the community organize events, test new products and publish useful news for IT Pros directly on the forum www.autoexec.gr, while there are specially designed areas for business-partners’ research, issues related to IT jobs and Education & Certification, through which many members have the opportunity to gain knowledge, as well as to find work. The dynamic autoexec.gr community does not limit its activity to on-line communication (forum & blogs), but strengthens its position by organizing monthly meetings in Athens and Thessaloniki, covering a wide range of concerns of the Greek IT Pros members. You can be informed on our events via Facebook too. On November 2008, we organized CyberCrime Security Forum 08 which hit a great success, under the auspices of ISACA and the Task Force for Digital Safety, with a TV channel coverage with foreign instructors, former employee at NSA, who were amazed by the level of the organization and the “local” IT Pros. On November 2009 we organized IT Pro Connections, hitting an even larger success, doubling the number of participants and with an impressive production, in content and performance. To thank our members for their commitment, we have ensured at times unique gifts – from 25 user Windows Server Enterprise Edition up to the flagship of Vista, Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 free of any charge at all for all the members of autoexec.gr! Although our community seams at a first glance as being Microsoft-oriented, we believe that all ΙΤ technologies are part of the landscape in which we are invited to work. Hence, solutions for various platforms need to be given, and in these platforms not all can be experts. Our actual professional experience, as impressed in autoexec.gr, is highly useful for all of us. In our forum there are no «odd job” solutions but suggestions and advice that have already been implemented by others, written in a understandable, simple language without flame wars…

All Greek Microsoft MVPs are members of autoexec.gr (some of them as administrators and moderators), are participating in international conferences, such as TechEd, as experts in their field of each of them and are promoting the views and suggestions of Greek users on the improvement of various products we are using. With the recognition of autoexec.gr as a unique and remarkable channel through which we are having contacts with companies and organizations of the field we have achieved at the same time a number of “victories” concerning issues hard to deal with. Moreover, autoexec.gr is members of GITCA (ex Culminis Alliance, an organization the aim of which is to help communities like ours in building collaborations among the professionals of the IT field and IT companies at global level. In its short life it has already acquired more than 4.000.000 members through the cooperating communities). Within less than five years we reached 6,000 registered members with more than 30 bloggers (whom we deeply thank) who are even fully preparing webcasts. All of our members are professionals in IT field (with an experience of some decades) or young people with perspectives in IT interested in being educated and certified. dotNETZone.gr community introduction
dotNETZone.gr is a community for Greek software developers who work on Microsoft’s platforms and technologies. The heart of dotNETZone.gr is the discussion forum where every day, various questions are being answered and conversations fire up. The range expands from technical questions on programming to legal and job related topics. dotNETZone’s mission is to establish an environment where everyone who feels belonging in our “guild” is able to contact other professionals, share knowledge and find solutions to common problems.

«Testing 123» was the first public message that was posted on our forum on June 5, 2004. Since that day, we have reached 4.180 members, 33.014 topics, 45.006 posts and 30 blogs. On October 22, 2009 we organized with great success the “Architect Days - Reconnecting Computers with Business” event having as speakers Udi Dahan, Diomidis Spinelis and Natasa Manousopoulou. The group of moderators, apart from the smooth administration of the forum (which is nothing big as a job since the participants converse in a civilized way – and always in Greek, using no greeklish at all) is also engaged in organizing “community events”. Community events are the technical high level presentations that are held every month, and last for about two hours. This year, we also started organizing such type of events in Thessaloniki and the participation was unexpectedly big. The subjects of community events are the core of everything! Hot and beta technologies, subjects in which every developer is interested, things we don’t know but are reluctant to ask, everything has a place in our events and the presentations are by us for us. Each of us is offering knowledge of his/her specialization so for everyone to be in a perfect technical form. After every event (some people say that the event is only a pretext) there follows a drinking bout during which we either we continue the conversations we had started during the presentation, either we discuss issues that concern our job, or we are making plans for the events to follow. Coding and programming? Alcohol? Psychotherapy ? Whatever the case, we have already run approximately 40 community events and there are even more to follow. Many of our members have been awarded with the title of Microsoft Most Valuable Professional – MVP for their contribution in the Greek community of developers. We are regular speakers on Microsoft Hellas DevDays official events and we have also participated as subject matter experts in Athens Startup Weekends. We write technical articles for tech magazines, we run web radio programs, we have cooperated with the academic field and we are actively participating in the fiesta that is every major launch of product, from Visual Studio 2005, up to Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2010. We also participate in TechEd, the biggest European technical event, where many of our members join the “Ask the Experts” kiosks and the Hands-On-Labs.
