Not so long ago, Yafka completed around 600 VFX shots for So Long, Marianne as the one and only VFX vendor for the series.
A co-production of Norway’s NRK, Greece’s Cosmote, and Canada’s Crave, filming taking place in Montreal, Oslo, and the Greek island of Hydra.
Among other things our work included set extensions, CG Vehicles, weather manipulation, and crowd multiplication, as we turned back time by half a century for all these locations plus making Athens look like New York of the 60s!
We had the privilege of working closely with two lovely people and professionals, Øystein Karlsen and Ingeborg Klyve. Vasilis Tzanidis, from the Greek side, was our guardian angel.

We are happy to announce that Yafka's visual effects work will be featured in Athina Rachel Tsangari's latest film, 'Harvest', which has been selected for competition at Venice Film Festival! La Biennale di Venezia
Athina is one of our all-time favorite directors, a true auteur and visionary, and it's an honor to have collaborated with her on this project.

Starring Harry Melling, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosy McEwen and Frank Dillane, the film is set in a medieval English village that comes under threat when a trio of outsiders arrive.

Venice Film Festival competition title 'Harvest,' by Athina Rachel Tsangari, is one of three films at the festival represented by the Match Factory.

We are thrilled to announce our fifth Ελληνική Ακαδημία Κινηματογράφου / Hellenic Film Academy Award for VFX! Our work on 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘, produced by Heretic Films, starring Willem Dafoe, and directed by Vasilis Katsoupis, earned this recognition, shared with Martin Jurado of LAVAlabs Moving Images.
We were also proud to be nominated for The Invisible Fight, directed by Rainer Sarnet and produced by Neda Films, another project close to our hearts. A special thanks to producer Giorgos Karnavas of Heretic Films for accepting the award on our behalf.

Job well done at Yafka for Fallout 1st season! We completed over 500 VFX shots here in our offices in Athens! Took a whole year but it was well worth it. 1st time we watched and celebrated the finished work altogether. Everybody including the dog did their bit! Here is the full list of everyone involved.

Yafka was responsible for around 500 VFX shots. Set extensions, blood, explosions, digital doubles, and much more. Its one of those projects that connects with the kid in us, connects with the reason we all started doing this in the first place. We are looking forward to see the show on April.
