Anemon
Anemon is dedicated to producing documentaries, educational programmes and cross-media projects as a catalyst for discussion, inspiration and impact. Special focus is given to projects promoting inter-cultural and historical understanding, human rights and sustainable living.
Recent films include When Tomatoes Met Wagner (2019, Greek Film Centre, Cosmote TV) which premiered at the Berlinale and was the Greek entry for the 2020 Academy Awards, Citizen Europe (2019, Arte, Screen Ireland, CNC, Bulgarian Film Center, RTE, ERT, RTP), Berlinale Teddy Award winner Obscuro Barroco (2018, CNC, Greek Film Centre), Hellenic Film Academy winner Dolphin Man (2018, ARTE, CNC, WOWOW, Greek Film Centre, Knowledge, TVO, ERT, CYBC, SVT, Yes DBS, TSR), FIPA D’OR winner A Family Affair (ABC, ERT, OTE-TV, Greek Film Centre), IDFA-nominated Kismet (Al Jazeera, ARTE, ERT, RAI, SVT, YLE, DR, RTS, BTS, Knowledge, and the Greek, Bulgarian and Croatian Film Centres) and Grierson-nominated The World’s First Computer (BBC, ARTE, NHK, PBS).
Cross-media projects Twice a Stranger, A Balkan Tale and War and Peace in the Balkans, produced with high profile institutions, museums and universities in Europe, the Balkans and the Middle East, have sought to contribute to undermining political conflict in the region.
Anemon also runs CineDoc and CineDoc Kids, screening documentaries across Greece, and is a founding member of Moving Docs, an EDN initiative which screens European documentaries in 22 territories.
