Volunteering for Peace: the end is a new beginning!

Η SCI Hellas γιορτάζει την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Εθελοντή -5 Δεκεμβρίου, και την έρα για τα Ανθρώπινα Δικαιώματα – 10 Δεκεμβρίου, με την συνεργασία της θεατρικής ομάδας Coexistence is Possible, το Σάββατο, 7 Δεκεμβρίου 2019, ώρα 2-6 το απόγευμα στον φιλόξενο χώρο της πολυγλωσσικής βιβλιοθήκης We Need Books σην Κυψέλη.

Με μια παράσταση με τίτλο «Work for your Rights» οι Coexistence is Possible, ομάδα νέων ερασιτεχνών ηθοποιών, που χρησιμοποιούν το street theatre για να μιλήσουν για τις προσπάθειές τους να ενταχθούν στην ελληνική κοινωνία, κλείνουμε και το Volunteering for Peace, το εθελοντικό πρόγραμμα του καλοκαιριού που έφερε κοντά μας 18 νέες και νέους από το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, τη Φιλανδία, την Ισπανία, την Ιταλία, την Πολωνία, την Ιταλία και τη Γαλλία.

Η παράσταση θα λάβει χώρα 3-4 ενώ η γιορτή περιλαμβάνει βιντεοπροβολές, έκθεση φωτογραφίας και συζητήσεις με την συμμετοχή των εθελοντριών και εθελοντών της SCI Hellas, τα μέλη των συνεργαζόμενων ομάδων μας και τις φίλες και τους φίλους του εθελοντικού κινήματος, μικρούς και μεγάλους.

Σας περιμένουμε να γιορτάσουμε όλοι και όλες μαζί!

We supported the Women Voice group to create a video and discussed with them about issues that women face all over the world.
We demonstrated together on the World Day for Peace September, 21 too to fight for women's conditions!

Every Monday at 3.30 pm. our Volunteers meet the Wings to Fly collective and try to support the promotion of their amazing blog and podcast related to refugee and women issues!

Wings to Fly is a collective of four young Afghan women. Our group was established in December 2018. The aim of the group is to make the refugee situation more visible, especially the issues that refugee women are facing in their countries of origin but also when they arrive in Europe. As members of Wings to Fly we are actively holding interviews, writing articles and publishing our own podcast. We also describe and share the issues important to us through multiple art forms such as poems, paintings and stories.


بالهایی برای پروازمجموعه ای از چهار زن جوان افغان است. گروه ما در دسامبر سال 2018 تأسیس شد. هدف این گروه ، آشکار ساختن وضعیت پناهندگان به ویژه مواردی است که زنان پناهنده در کشورهای مبداء خود و همچنین هنگام ورود به اروپا با آنها روبرو می شوند. به عنوان اعضای بالهایی برای پرواز ، ما به طور جدی مصاحبه می کنیم ، مقاله می نویسیم وپادکست های خود را منتشر می کنیم. ما همچنین موضوعات مختلفی را که برای ما مهم است از طریق اشکال هنری متعدد مانند شعرها و نقاشی ها توصیف و به اشتراک می گذاریم.

MOVIE NIGHT 🎞️🎞️ Join us every thursday at 18:30. Yesterday we saw a documentary called “Born in Syria” that follows a group of Syrian Children refugee who narrowly escape a life of torment and integrate into foreign land. The film was followed by an interesting discussion.

The situation of families who live outside the Eleonas camp is still the same! These families live day by day in the middle of the street without any kind of institutional support!
Please, if you want to help (with clothes, food, etc.) you are invited to bring the donations directly there or to the SCI Hellas office!

Please share the post as much as possible in order to give voice and visibility to these people!

a documentary on the life and work of Taher Alizadeh,
of Afghan origin whose art decorates some of Athens' finest buildings.

In empty and hot Athens, these families from Syria and Afghanistan with their children are suffering on the streets outside of Eleonas Camp. Many of the children are under 5 years old. Families do not have access to the camp facilities not even to cover their lack basic hygienic needs. We want to give visibility to this vulnerable situation and urge the authorities to provide decent housing for these families immediately!
This is also a call for local NGO's and people of Athens donations to support families with food and hygienic products (such as diapers and cleaning wipes). You can support the families directly or by bringing donations to SCI Hellas office (Gravias 9-13. Mon-Fri 10-15).
