Ronald James Padavona (July 10, 1942 – May 16, 2010),known professionally as Ronnie James Dio, was an American singer. He fronted numerous bands throughout his career, including Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio and Heaven & Hell.

Though his parents were from Cortland, New York, Dio was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where his family resided for his father's service in the U.S. Army during World War II. The family returned to Cortland when Dio was very young, and he lived there until graduating from high school in 1960. Dio's music career began in 1957 as part of the Vegas Kings (later Ronnie and the Rumblers). In 1967, he formed the rock band Elf, which became a regular opening act for Deep Purple. In 1975, Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore founded the band Rainbow and hired Dio to be the lead singer; during his tenure, the band released three studio albums. Dio quickly emerged as one of heavy rock's pre-eminent vocalists. In 1979, Dio replaced Ozzy Osbourne as Black Sabbath's lead singer and appeared on three studio albums with the band, all three of which met with success: Heaven & Hell (1980), Mob Rules (1981) and Dehumanizer (1992). In 1982, he left to form the band Dio, which itself had two albums certified platinum by the RIAA. In 2006, he founded the band Heaven & Hell with ex-bandmate Tony Iommi. In November 2009, Dio was diagnosed with stomach cancer and died of the disease six months later.

Dio is regarded as one of the greatest and most influential heavy metal vocalists of all time. He is known for popularizing the "devil horns" hand gesture in metal culture and his medieval-themed song lyrics.According to a version provided by the singer himself the act derives directly from the classic Italian apotropaic gesture, which his grandmother often displayed. Dio had a powerful, versatile vocal range and was capable of singing both hard rock and lighter ballads. He was awarded the "Metal Guru Award" by Classic Rock Magazine in 2006. He was also named the "Best Metal Singer" at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in 2010 and ranked as the genre's best vocalist in 2013 by music journalist Sacha Jenkins.

Ο Γιάννης Σπάθας (Παξοί, 30 Νοεμβρίου 1950 - Χολαργός Αττικής, 6 Ιουλίου 2019) ήταν Έλληνας κιθαρίστας, ιδρυτικό μέλος του ροκ συγκροτήματος Socrates Drank the Conium (ή απλά Socrates). Θεωρείται από τους σπουδαιότερους Έλληνες βιρτουόζους της ηλεκτρικής κιθάρας.

Γεννήθηκε στους Παξούς το 1950. Ήλθε σε επαφή με τη μουσική κοντά στον πατέρα και τους θείους του, μαθαίνοντας από μικρός ακορντεόν, κιθάρα και τύμπανα. Στον Πειραιά όπου μεγάλωσε, σχημάτισε με τους Αντώνη Τουρκογιώργη και Ηλία Ασβεστόπουλο (τον μετέπειτα ηγέτη των 2002 GR) το ροκ συγκρότημα Persons (1966-1969) και στη συνέχεια τους Socrates, πάλι με τον Τουρκογιώργη (μπάσο, τραγούδι).

Το 1983, μετά τη διάλυση των Socrates, ο Σπάθας συνεργάστηκε ως ενορχηστρωτής και κιθαρίστας με καλλιτέχνες όπως οι: Μίκης Θεοδωράκης, Μάνος Χατζιδάκις, Μαρία Φαραντούρη, Γιάννης Μαρκόπουλος, Γιώργος Νταλάρας, Χάρις Αλεξίου, Μανώλης Λιδάκης, Νίκος Αντύπας, Λίνα Νικολακοπούλου, Διονύσης Σαββόπουλος, Μάνος Λοΐζος, Ελένη Καραΐνδρου κ.ά. Επίσης συνέθεσε τη μουσική τριών δίσκων του Βασίλη Λέκκα. Το 1999 κυκλοφόρησε τον πρώτο προσωπικό του δίσκο,στον οποίο είχε συμμετοχή η Χάρις Αλεξίου.
Σύμφωνα με τον ίδιο, μεγαλύτερη επιρροή του υπήρξε ο Τζίμι Χέντριξ.

Geoffrey Arnold Beck (24 June 1944 – 10 January 2023) was an English guitarist. He rose to prominence as a member of the rock band the Yardbirds, and afterwards founded and fronted the Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice. In 1975, he switched to an instrumental style with focus on an innovative sound, and his releases spanned genres and styles ranging from blues rock, hard rock, jazz fusion and a blend of guitar-rock and electronica.

Beck has been consistently ranked in the top five of Rolling Stone and other magazines' lists of the greatest guitarists. He was often called a "guitarist's guitarist". Rolling Stone described him as "one of the most influential lead guitarists in rock". Although he recorded two successful albums (in 1975 and 1976) as a solo act, Beck did not establish or maintain commercial success like that of his contemporaries and bandmates. He recorded with many artists.

Beck earned wide critical praise and received the Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance six times, winning in three categories at the 2010 Grammy Awards for a career total of eight Grammies. In 2014, he received the British Academy's Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: first as a member of the Yardbirds (1992) and secondly as a solo artist (2009).

John Lee Ho**er (August 22, 1912 – June 21, 2001) was an American blues singer, songwriter, and guitarist. The son of a sharecropper, he rose to prominence performing an electric guitar-style adaptation of Delta blues that he developed in Detroit. Ho**er often incorporated other elements, including talking blues and early North Mississippi hill country blues. He developed his own driving-rhythm boogie style, distinct from the 1930s–1940s piano-derived boogie-woogie. Ho**er was ranked 35 in Rolling Stone's 2015 list of 100 greatest guitarists, and has been cited as one of the greatest male blues vocalists of all time.

A number of guitarists, including Alex Lifeson of Rush, Brian May of Queen, and Eric Clapton, have cited Gallagher as an influence.
