One of our little boats traveled from Salamina to Athens, where it met Nektarios Theodorou, who won one of the five equal awards for Best Short Film with his film "Your hope is being forwarded". The meeting took place at Alma Mater, a space for Art, Culture, Work & Learning, where Foti Kllogjeri presented his first solo exhibition in Greece, dedicated exclusively to his watercolor works, titled "HORIZONS", curated by Paris Kapralos. We thank Elena Ttsitsigianni for the wonderful hospitality!

Z Grecji wracamy z nagrodą Best Short Film Award, jedną z pięciu równorzędnych nagród festiwalu w Salaminie! ❤️ W konkursie brało udział 46 filmów, a w jury byli znakomici greccy filmowcy - Nikos Dalezios, Kirineos Papadimatos, Nikolaos Toornakis.
Statuetka nadejdzie pocztą. 😀

The closing ceremony of the 2nd Salamina International Short Film Festival was honored by the presence of Mr. Michalis Livanos, cardiologist and Member of Parliament for Piraeus B District, as well as Ms. Sofia Lalousi-Karnesi, Deputy Mayor of Culture of the Municipality of Salamina. Representing the Municipality of Salamina, Ms. Lalousi-Karnesi presented the awards to the contestants at the end of the evening, recognizing the artistic effort and passion of the participants.

The event, held under the auspices of the Municipality of Salamina, received warm support from the local community and institutions, underscoring the festival's importance in promoting culture and cinema in Greece . We wholeheartedly thank all attendees and honored guests who contributed to creating an unforgettable evening dedicated to art and creativity.

During the awards ceremony, five films received equal honors for Best Film:
• "Concert for Omega" by Przemek Młyńczyk from Poland
• "Son of God" by Bruce Micallef Eynaud from Malta
• "Birthday" by Sabri Pajaziti from Kosovo
• "Watch your step" by Giorgos Lambrou from Greece
• "Your hope is being forwarded" by Nektarios Theodorou from Greece
In addition, three honorable mentions were awarded to recognize the quality and merit of the following films:
• "Through two Doors" at Once by Makis Chronas from Greece
• "The Rails" by Giorgos Katsimichas from Greece
• "Subtitle" by Sameh Ellaboody from Cairo, Egypt
A statement from the jury will soon be announced, which will explain the reasoning behind the selection of these particular films. Congratulations to the winners! For our festival, every film that has managed to find its audience is a winner!

The evening’s guest of honor was the acclaimed director Kostas Ferris, who could not attend due to a departure to Egypt but sent a heartfelt message, expressing his gratitude for the recognition of his work. In his message, he wrote:
"As I prepare to return to my beloved birthplace, Egypt, it is deeply moving to receive another acknowledgment of my work from my cultural homeland, Greece. Thank you all, and I hope we can continue making strides for the culture of our country in the future. Let us overcome the harmful habits of division and intolerance. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart."

The final day of the festival concluded with great success. Twenty short films were presented, offering the audience a multifaceted cinematic experience. At the closing ceremony, the directors Sabri Pajaziti, Giorgos Katsimichas, Alexandra Baousi, Despina Sotiropoulou, Konstantinos Balabanidis, Dimitris Andjus, Konstantinos Dimitrakopoulos, Giorgos Chrysanthakopoulos, Haris Georgiadis and Danny Koumniotis, Vasilis Kolovelonis, and Vasilis Dimopoulos were present and spoke live with the audience.

These films covered a wide range of topics and styles, showcasing the rich talent of both Greek and international creators. The evening concluded with the festival’s closing ceremony and award presentation, leaving a lasting impression and highlighting the power of the art of cinema!

Ευχαριστούμε θερμά τους χορηγούς του 2ου Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Ταινιών Μικρού Μήκους του Θεάτρου Σαλαμίνας! Η στήριξη και η χορηγία αποτελούν παραδόσεις που μας συνδέουν με το παρελθόν και συνεχίζουν να διαμορφώνουν το παρόν. Από την αρχαιότητα έως σήμερα, η τέχνη ανθίζει χάρη στους ανθρώπους και τους οργανισμούς που πιστεύουν στη δύναμή της και επενδύουν σε αυτήν. Με την πολύτιμη συμβολή σας, ενώνουμε το όραμα και τη δημιουργικότητα, φέρνοντας κοντά καλλιτέχνες και κοινό από όλο τον κόσμο.

First day of the festival today, and coming all the way from Kosovo specifically for our event is Sabri Pajaztiti, the director and ten-year organizer of the international FERFILM festival.

In the group photo, the jury members Mr. Nikolaos Tournakis, Kyrineos Papadimatos, and Nikos Dalezios stand with the artistic director of the 2nd International Short Film Festival, Akriti Kollia, and the artistic director of the Theatre of Salamina, Stefanos Karydakis. The other photos capture scenes from today’s screenings.

Tomorrow, the festival continues with 14 films from Greece and around the world, with free admission for the public. A gift from the Theatre of Salamina to all cinephiles and those who wish to discover the gems of short films.

Ευχαριστούμε πολύ τον Νικόλαο Τουρνάκη που θα είναι κοντά μας αυτό το κινηματογραφικό τριήμερο ως μέλος της Κριτικής Επιτροπής του 2ου Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Σαλαμίνας Ταινιών Μικρού Μήκους.

Ακολουθεί το σύντομο βιογραφικό του:

Ο Νικόλαος Τουρνάκης είναι απόφοιτος της Ανωτέρας Σχολής Δραματικής Τέχνης του Εθνικού Θεάτρου (1998). Έχει ερμηνεύσει σημαντικούς ρόλους σε πλήθος θεατρικών παραστάσεων, συνεργαζόμενος με καταξιωμένους σκηνοθέτες όπως ο Λευτέρης Βογιατζής, ο Στάθης Λιβανθινός, ο Κώστας Καζάκος, ο Γρηγόρης Καραντινάκης, ο Κώστας Φέρρης κ.α.
Πρώτη φορά στην Επίδαυρο έπαιξε στον Χορό της αρχαίας τραγωδίας, στην εμβληματική παράσταση της «Αντιγόνης» σε σκηνοθεσία Λευτέρη Βογιατζή.
Είναι εκείνος που έδωσε και μετέφρασε χάριν της Δασκάλας του Μαρίας Χορς τον Ύμνο του Μεσομήδου του Κρητός (2 αι.μ.Χ.) που απαγγέλει η εκάστοτε Πρωθιέρεια στην Αφή της Ολυμπιακής Φλόγας από το 1996 μέχρι σήμερα.
Παίζει παραδοσιακά όργανα (κρητική λύρα, μπουζούκι τρίχορδο και μαντολίνο).

Below is his brief biography:

Nikolaos Tournakis is a graduate of the National Theatre Drama School (1998). He has played major roles in numerous theatrical performances, collaborating with esteemed directors such as Lefteris Voyatzis, Stathis Livathinos, Kostas Kazakos, Grigoris Karantinakis, Kostas Ferris, and others.
He made his debut in Epidaurus in the Chorus of an ancient tragedy, in the iconic production of Antigone directed by Lefteris Voyatzis.
He also contributed to the translation and adaptation of the Hymn of Mesomedes of Crete (2nd century A.D.), which, since 1996, is recited by the High Priestess in the Olympic Flame Lighting Ceremony in honor of his teacher, Maria Hors.
Additionally, he plays traditional instruments, including the Cretan lyre, the three-stringed bouzouki, and the mandolin.

Ακολουθεί το σύντομο βιογραφικό του:

Γεννημένος το 87’ πτυχιούχος του Τμήματος Θεατρικών Σπουδών Ναυπλίου με μεταπτυχιακό τίτλο ειδίκευσης στις ψηφιακές μορφές τέχνης από την Ανωτάτη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών της Αθήνας. Ειδικευμένος και πιστοποιημένος σε τεχνολογίες που αφορούν τον κινηματογράφο το μοντάζ καθώς επίσης και τεχνολογίες σχετικές με πολυμεσικά έργα.
Έχει συμμετάσχει ως ομιλητής σε συνέδρια και έχει δώσει διαλέξεις σε τμήματα τριτοβάθμιας και δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης. Εργάζεται σε τηλεοπτικές και κινηματογραφικές παραγωγές. Ασχολείται επαγγελματικά με τη φωτογραφία και το post production. Συμμετείχε σε πλήθος ταινιών μικρού μήκους, βιντεοκλίπ και διαφημιστικών, καθώς και στην ψηφιακή αποκατάσταση ταινιών.
Ήταν παραγωγός και φωτογράφος στο ντοκιμαντέρ Φωνές Από Το Υπόγειο (2013). Εργάζεται ως ανεξάρτητος επαγγελματίας φωτογράφος και εικονολήπτης από το 2012 έως σήμερα.

Nikos Dalezios was born in Piraeus in 1987. He has a bachelor's degree in theater studies from the University of Peloponnese. He also has a master's degree in Digital Arts from the Athens School of Fine Arts. He works as a certified freelance video editor from 2012. He also works as a still photographer and director of photography in many short movies and he often collaborates with advertising agencies and film production companies. He was the producer and main photographer in an acclaimed documentary called "Voices From The Greek Underground". He has collaborated with many directors in their early movies and his works participated in many festivals.
