Our venerable Shaykh and father, who had great virtue over the people, His Eminence Shaykh ʿAbdul-ʿAzīz ibn ʿAbdullāh Āl al-Shaykh, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has passed away.

O Allah, forgive Shaykh ʿAbdul-ʿAzīz, raise his rank among the rightly guided, grant good succession among his descendants, forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds, expand his grave for him and fill it with light.

TO OUR GAMBIAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS

All praise is due to Allah, who has guided us to Islam and made clear to us the path of Tawheed, and warned us against shirk and misguidance, Peace and blessings be upon Muhammad ibn Abdullah, the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers,

My brothers and sisters, we are all witnessing the recent trend on social media regarding Imam Abdul Kareem’s Friday khutbah, in which he spoke against shirk, and the anger of some Murids who reported this young, innocent Imam to the police because he mentioned Magal Touba,

If this message is truly from the current Caliph of their order, it calls on their Murid committee in The Gambia to leave Imam Abdul Kareem's matter to Serigne Touba, who has been dead for a long time, This belief goes against the true Islamic belief, for the dead cannot benefit or harm themselves, let alone others, All power and control belong only to Allah, the Most High,

O people of The Gambia, know that those calling to their dead grandparents only want from you what is in your hands, your wealth, If we reflect on the journeys to “Magal Touba,” we will see how people travel carrying gifts and huge sums of money, while the economy of our country continues to weaken, We gain nothing from this except loss and dependency,

What is even more troubling is that some of our politicians step in to defend this order, thinking that by pleasing them they will win popularity or approval, In reality, this defense comes at the expense of our religion, our economy, and the future of our children,

Let us all return to pure Tawheed, which the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) brought to us, Let us preserve our wealth and resources for our own nation and generations, and let us stand united against anyone who sells both his religion and his people for the worldly gain of others,

> “You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help,” This is enough for us, We do not seek aid from the dead, nor do we attach ourselves to the weak, but on

Young Gambians Rally Behind Imam Abdul Kareem Kuyateh, Summoned to Police Over ‘Controversial’ Sermon That Drew Objections from Senegal’s Murid Community

The young cleric was called to police headquarters on Monday after a sermon deemed offensive by Murid followers in both Senegal and Gambia, sparking solidarity among Gambian youth, many of whom are believed to follow Sunni Islam.

We stand in full solidarity with our brother Abdou Kareem Abdul Kareem Alkali Kuyateh. Whatever he has said is not a new utterance at all, the same things have been said countless times by different scholars, including Sheikh Omar Faba Gitteh, Sheikh Kebo Cham, and many others. This is the truth: you either take it in its entirety or leave it entirely.

The police should fear Allah and not drag this matter. The Imam has every right to preach freely and without intimidation in a 95% Muslim country, since there is freedom of speech and freedom of religion. He did not touch anyone’s religion, he only said what is right in Islam.

May Allah render His unwavering support to you, our brother, and to the entire Ummah.

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says:

لَقَدۡ كَفَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلۡمَسِيحُ ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ ۖ وَقَالَ ٱلۡمَسِيحُ يَٰبَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمۡ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ مَن يُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَمَأۡوَىٰهُ ٱلنَّارُ ۖ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنۡ أَنصَارٍ
"They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers."
