On Friday the 14th of October 2022, the Alkalo of our village Pa Matarr Loum of Loum K***a officially receive his appointment letter as the Alkalo of Kerr Serign village by the paramount Chief of kombo north district Momodou Lamin Bojang of sukuta.

In a well represented gathering at the Kerr Serign bantaba were village elders are presence all the imams in Kerr Serign the youths and the women’s as well. The Chief with his high powered delegation thank the new alkalo and advice him to be patient in all his dealings with his people.
The Chief highlighted some background history on how Kerr Serign was established and the relationship between sukuta and Kerr Serign.
In his remarks the new Alkalo Matarr Loum express his delight to the Chief and his delegation and also thank the elders youths and women’s of Kerr Serign for the trust they have in him.
He promise to deliver up to expectation by the grace of Allah.

We pray for the Alkali to successfully execute his mandate in peace progress and prosperity Amen.

The beginning of a new start

Another news reaching us is that the new Alkalo Pa Loum
has instituted a task force constituting some young people to look into the mandate of the VDC and come up with recommendations on the way forward.

An all-inclusive VDC will be formed after the completion of the task force’s assignment.

The Alluta continues one more game to go!!!

Yesterday your prayers were answered thanks to Allah the boys make it to the play offs.
In an entertaining game Zion fc won by a goal to nil against blue star fc of Sanchaba.
Muhammed s Jallow in the 34th minute of the first half, dribble past two players before taken a powerful shot past the blue star goalkeeper.

His effort was enough to seal the victory.

One of the current success stories in our beloved village is the ongoing push for qualification for the Manjai Nawettan by FC Zion.

They’re currently the sole team from Kerr Serign left in the qualifying phase and tomorrow will be the third game against Blue Star at 5pm.

We pray for victory and urge all to show up and support the team.

We are saddened to announce the demise of our Alkalo Pa Omar Bittaye. This sad news happened yesterday evening and we the join the entire village to extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and village elders.
We pray Allah (swt) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus and all the departed souls. May Allah elevate his spiritual status in heaven Amen! May Allah also shower His mercy upon the grieved families and give them solace and fortitude and enable them to bear this loss with patience. Amen!

Kerr Serign is at the heart of The Gambia TDA! It is rather unfortunate we have one of the most desolated Market around the coastal zone.
Most of Kerr serign resident either go to Serekunda or Sanchaba for their shopping (Nduga), this is as a result of the lack of proper infranstructure, market stalls and low salepersons.
The only place we call a Market has been in this appalling state for ages with no sight of improvement.
It is high time we not only start asking the questions but also see to it that our questions are duly answered and efforts are made to improve the condition of our market.

Who is responsible for the Market??

What is the role of the community?

What should we do address the Market issue and many other issues in Kerr Serign?

Answering these questions will enable "US" to shape away in building a vibrant market that enhance efficiency and increase competitiveness by inadequately creating more employment space for women in the community.
The community is eager to do business, but finds it difficult to access a proper market (within the community), especially in this Holy Month of Ramadam.

We are getting a report of a fire outbreak raging at Bass K***a. Meanwhile, Fire Service is battling to put out the fire. The fire outbreak is said to cause by two Gas explosions and as of now, one causality has been confirmed.
We urge the entire community of Kerr Serign and beyond to extend their support to Base K***a in these trying times.

Dear All

As we draw close to the parliamentary election. We will like to remind all eligible voters to take this election serious as the legislature is ascribed with significant powers by the Constitution to check the Executive. It is therefore paramount to put party politics aside and vote for the right candidate. Public service is simply putting the needs of others ahead of one's own. While voting for a representative at the national assembly, which is as equally important as the Presidential elections - we must examine if the candidate is the best person for the task or whether someone else is better suited. Our votes should be for a candidate who works for the greater welfare of the people, not for your best interests and wishes as a candidate or party interest.
Additionally, voting for a rubber stamp parliamentarian should be avoided. We should all encourage our family members to vote for a candidate who can speak in public and be able to articulate a message, even in the face of adversity. Although a candidate cannot agree with all the voters, however, he or she must be willing to listen to all sides of an issue and be able to represent us well. Finally, our choice should be a candidate with a good political understanding, a proper knowledge of state and local issues is a necessity. Therefore, is essential to question these candidates when they come to seek our mandate and not to vote for them for the sake of friendship, Yeffi Mboka or Sinyo Ya.

As we welcome the Holy Month of Ramadan, we want to take this opportunity to wish every Muslim resident in Kerr Serign and all around the world Ramadan Kareem in advance. We pray that Allah (SWT) eases the sufferings of all the residents of Kerr Serign in particular and the wider Ummah in general.

We would also take a moment to remember and pray for all the departed souls. Kerr Serign lost some great sons and daughters over the past year and we will always remember them in our prayers. We pray for Allah to forgive their shortcomings and elevate their status amongst those guided by Him.
