With deep respect for the traditions and values of the Galoya community, we share the news that this year's Galoya Village Festival has been canceled following the passing of an important and respected leader in the village—a beloved uncle, brother, and father.

In honor of his memory and out of respect for the community's decision, the festival will return next year to celebrate culture, music, and heritage together once again.

Our thoughts are with the family and the people of Galoya during this time.

ITTOG'S 17th GRADUATION & AWARD CERMEONY

On January 25th, 2025, ITTOG hosted its 17th Graduation & Award Ceremony at Qcity, celebrating the achievements of its students and recognizing individuals and organizations making a lasting impact on The Gambia’s tourism industry.

With the theme "Promoting Community Engagement," the event highlighted the importance of sustainable tourism, education, and collaboration in shaping the future of the sector.

The ceremony was led by Mr. Lamin Bojang and Aminata Bah, with inspiring speeches from Dr. Adama Bah (Chairman of the Board of Directors) and Sheikh Tejan Nyang (Head of School), who continue to be pillars of ITTOG’s mission to develop skilled tourism professionals.

Guest Speaker, Mustapha Njie - TAF (TAF Africa Global), shared an inspiring message, encouraging graduates to contribute to the industry with innovation and support the growth of tourism.

Every year, ITTOG presents awards to outstanding individuals and organizations who have significantly contributed to the development of The Gambia’s tourism industry.

This year’s awardees include:
✅ Mr. Mustapha Njie (TAF Africa Global)
✅ Mr. Charbel Hobeika (Gambia Tours & Travel)
✅ Mr. Bassirou Gassama (Pioneer of The Tourist Guide Scheme at Sunwing Hotel)
✅ People & Places (UK Responsible Volunteering Organization)
✅ Gambia River Excursion (Pioneer of Tourist pirogue design and construction that transformed local boat excursions)
✅ Lamin Kinteh, Young Tourism Entrepreneur of The Year ( Tours)

Hon. Prof. Pierre Gomez (Minister of Higher Education) and Lamin Kinteh (Janneya Tours) shared their insights on the future of the industry and emphasized the important role ITTOG graduates will play in shaping its grow.

A vote of thanks was delivered by a student representative, expressing gratitude to ITTOG, and all those who have supported the graduates on their journey.
