It was a day of tactical drills this morning as Tom Saintfiet tries to instill the tactical approach he will device in the first match in this year’s AFCON. There will be a second session in the afternoon that will focus on physical exercises as the players will be put through their paces with the gaffer seeking to have all his players at optimum conditions for the continental showpiece event that gets underway in 10 days

Today we held our first training session as the pre-AFCON camp begins at the Prince Abdullah Bin Jalawi Sports Complex in Al Ahsa. It was more of a recovery session for the 22 players that took part and it was all jokes and camaraderie between the players. Tomorrow there will be a double session with the first session to be held at 10am local time to be dedicated to physical exercises while the 4pm one will focus on tactics. The Scorpions will remain here until January 8 when we’ll leave for Banjul to train in front of the home support at Bakau’s Independence Stadium on 9th January before leaving for Yamoussoukro the next day.

Honestly I don't understand Tom,Why dropping Maudo jarju who is in good form and playing in the conference league and Alhajie saine a young defender with fine form just from playing Afcon U20 with 5 clean sheet and Abdoulie sanyang who is top quality player. To include Dawda ngum who is not in good form and like playing time and also is not good quality player and buba sanneh who is been without club for year and he is not fit,due to lack of fitness make him fail his last trials.

Tom Saintfiet today unveiled a 32-man preliminary list for next week’s 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Mali. The final squad of 25 players will be released at a later date due to uncertainty over the availability of some key players. However, James Gomez, Sulayman Marreh, Ebrima Adams, Ebrima Darboe and Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally are definitely out due to injury.
The Scorpions take on Mali in Bamako on 24th March before the two sides square off again in Casablanca four days later. Mali is 45 on the FIFA World Rankings, 81 places ahead of us on 126. After two Match Days, they lead the group with maximum six points following wins over Congo and South Sudan while The Gambia and the former are tied on three points apiece.

Following the sale of the club to Gambian international Bubacarr Steve Trawally, the new owners of Dibba Oil has informed Football House that it has changed the name to BST Galaxy Football Club.
The Club, that has also changed its physical address from Jarra West to Bijilo, has established a new management team headed by Steve as the Chairman, sole owner and President.
Lamin Trawally is the first Vice President while Omar Jarju will serve as the second VP. Amadou LS Jaiteh is now the Club Secretary with Khalied Allie serving as the Legal Consultant and Adviser completing the management team.
The GFF and the entire football family once again congratulate Steve Trawally and wish him and management team the best of luck while urging for similar investments in the domestic Gambian football.
