A Heartfelt Welcome to Cherno Abdourahman Barry in Missera

Today, the people of Missera once again had the honor and pleasure of welcoming Cherno Abdourahman Barry, who visited the village alongside his son, Mustapha Barry, and members of his delegation.

This visit is a respected and cherished tradition that Cherno Abdourahman Barry has faithfully maintained over the years, visiting Missera every year after Tobaski. His arrival was met with immense joy and excitement as elders, youths, and residents from across the village came out in large numbers to welcome him.

The gathering was marked by warm greetings, sincere appreciation, and heartfelt prayers. Community elders offered blessings for his continued good health, success, and prosperity, while the youths expressed their happiness and pride in receiving him once again.

The people of Missera made it clear through their words and actions that they consider him one of their own. They spoke of him with affection and respect, emphasizing that Missera will always be his home and that he will always be welcomed with open arms whenever he returns.

His annual visit continues to strengthen the bond between him and the people of Missera, fostering unity, friendship, and a deep sense of community. The smiles, prayers, and overwhelming turnout witnessed today reflected the genuine love and admiration the people have for him.

Today, Kabada TV proudly celebrates one of our very own member on an extraordinary achievement. 🎓🤍

From a little girl who once cried at the school gate, to a determined mother carrying her baby to class, and now a graduate earning a BSc in Biomedical Laboratory Science with Cum Laude honors — her journey is a powerful story of resilience, sacrifice, faith, and determination.

After losing her father at an early age, she faced many hardships while helping her mother at the market and struggling through school and life challenges. Despite financial difficulties, exhaustion, pregnancy, and moments of doubt, she remained committed to her education and never gave up on her dreams.

With the support of her family, teachers, friends, colleagues, and loving husband, she rose above every obstacle and fulfilled the dream of her late father and family. Today, she stands as a proud graduate and an inspiration to young girls and mothers everywhere.

Her achievement reminds us that success is possible through hard work, prayer, perseverance, and belief in oneself. Graduating alongside her daughter Adam makes this moment even more special — a true symbol of strength, motherhood, and hope.

Following the tragic death of more than 200 sheep in the Dongoro Ba area, reportedly after consuming a plant locally known as “Peeli,” Amadou Jallow has issued an important public awareness statement to sensitize livestock owners and the wider community about the suspected disease and the urgent need for caution.

The sheep, brought from Senegal and neighboring countries ahead of Eid al-Adha, represented a major source of livelihood for many traders. This devastating loss has caused deep emotional and financial hardship during one of the busiest periods for livestock sales.

Nioro Jattaba celebrated another major educational milestone as twelve young people connected to the village were recognised among the Class of 2026 graduates at the convocation ceremony of University of Education, The Gambia. The graduates, most of whom attended the village’s Senior Secondary School, earned Advanced Diplomas in Primary and Secondary Education in areas such as Science, Mathematics, English, Agriculture, Economics, and Social & Environmental Studies.

The graduates honoured were Ramatoulie Sowe, Awa Sowe, Momodou Kebbeh, Lamin Touray, Bubacarr Sowe, Aminata A. Bah, Ismaila S. Bah, Almameh Jobe, Momodou Sowe, Dellam Jallow, Abdourahman Bah, and Saffiatou from Dongoroba, who was also recognised for her connection to the community and schooling in Nioro.

Residents, parents, and former teachers praised the achievement as another sign of Nioro Jattaba’s growing contribution to education and national development, while encouraging the graduates to inspire younger students pursuing their studies.
