It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Ba Mamadi of Tangkong, a remarkable elder who lived for over 100 years and left behind a legacy of wisdom, humility, and cherished memories.

Last year, we had the honour of meeting Ba Mamadi and spending time with him. Meeting someone who had witnessed more than a century of life was truly a privilege. His presence, stories, and wisdom gave us a glimpse into a rich history that can never be replaced.

Yesterday, we received the heartbreaking news of his passing. While his departure is a great loss to his family, his community, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, we are grateful for the memories he left behind.

Ba Mamadi may have left this world, but his legacy will continue to live through the stories, lessons, and memories of those who knew him.

On behalf of Kabada TV, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, relatives, friends, and the entire community of Tangkong.

May Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and give his loved ones strength and patience during this difficult time.

Gansila Academy: A New Digital Platform Supporting Gambian Students

Access to quality educational and examination resources remains an important challenge for many Gambian students. In response to this challenge, Gambian innovator Mamadou Lamin Ndongo has created Gansila Academy, an educational technology platform designed to make learning and examination preparation easier and more accessible.

Gansila Academy provides students with access to WASSCE and GABCE past examination questions and practice materials, with additional resources being added progressively. Through the platform, students can practice questions, review their answers, monitor their performance, and identify areas where they need to improve.

The platform also provides educational tutorials to further support students in their studies.

Currently, Gansila Academy is available as a web application, allowing students to access it using a phone, tablet, or computer through a web browser. Android and iOS mobile applications are also expected to be available soon.

According to its founder, the project is driven by a simple goal: using technology to make educational resources more accessible to Gambian students and support them in achieving better academic results.

The initiative has already received encouraging feedback and support from individuals who believe in its potential to contribute positively to education in The Gambia.

For students preparing for their WASSCE, GABCE, and other examinations, Gansila Academy could become a useful digital resource for practicing, learning, and tracking their progress.

Senegalese Authorities Expand Border Claims, Affecting Gambian Farmers

Reports indicate that Senegalese authorities are extending their territorial claims along the Gambia–Senegal border, affecting farming communities in two separate locations.

In Madina Angalleh, Kiang Central, Senegalese officials reportedly visited the area and instructed local Gambian farmers to stop cultivating their land, claiming that the farmland falls within Senegalese territory.

Similarly, in Missira, Jarra West, Senegalese authorities have issued a directive prohibiting Gambians from farming on land they claim belongs to Senegal. According to reports, more than 20 Gambian farmers have been affected by this order.

The developments have raised concerns among residents, as many families rely on these farmlands for their livelihoods. Local communities are calling for the matter to be addressed through peaceful dialogue between the authorities of The Gambia and Senegal to avoid further tensions and protect the interests of those affected.

A moment of joy and celebration has come to Missira Village in Kabada District as one of its daughters, Mrs. Musu Sallah, has safely given birth to healthy triplets at Farafenni General Hospital.

The successful vaginal delivery took place on 24th July 2026 and was carried out by the hospital’s experienced gynaecologist, supported by a dedicated team of midwives. The triplets consist of two baby girls and one baby boy, and we are happy to report that both the mother and her babies are in good health.

This remarkable birth is a proud moment not only for the Sallah family but also for the entire Missira and Kabada community. Kabada TV joins family members, friends, and well-wishers in celebrating this wonderful blessing.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the healthcare professionals at Farafenni General Hospital for their outstanding care and commitment to ensuring a safe delivery.

Congratulations to Mrs. Musu Sallah, Mr. Basiru Sallah, and their beautiful newborn babies. May they be blessed with good health, peace, and a bright future.

🚨 FOUR ARRESTED OVER ALLEGED PUBLIC NUISANCE IN KABADA (SUMBUNDU)

According to the Gambia Police Force, four suspects, aged between 18 and 40, have been arrested in connection with an alleged case of public nuisance in Sumbundu (Kabada), Lower River Region.

The arrests followed a complaint from a community member, who reported that a group of individuals had allegedly been causing persistent public disturbance and engaging in activities that affected the peace and security of the neighborhood.

In response, a joint police team conducted an operation at the location, where the suspects were found inside a room. During a search of the premises, officers recovered several cutlasses, knives, and other items, which have been retained as exhibits as investigations continue.

The suspects are currently in police custody, and the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
