It's quite ironic to see you people calling out NPP supporters for inconsistency, while conveniently forgetting how often you switch tones depending on public mood or click-bait potential. If your position on the Janneh Commission “hasn’t changed one bit,” then why the recycled posts? Why the sudden defensiveness when people highlight your past contradictions?

Good morning, Gambia!

So, some NPP keyboard commandos have been busy sharing our old posts about the Janneh Commission, accusing us of being "fake" and "inconsistent".

Funny, isn’t it? Imagine a party famous for having Olympic-level flip-floppers calling the Grand Bantaba inconsistent. What an irony!

Let’s clear this up once and for all. Our position on the Janneh Commission has not changed one bit. Not now, not then, not ever. We don’t spit and lick it back up. Not our vibe. Jamais!

Our relationship with the NPP social media squad including diplomat Ousman Rambo Jatta is like a spicy love-hate Kitabu Comedy drama. Every time they think they have found a moment to attack us, they go all in. But once the dust settles, they quietly return to the Grand Bantaba like nothing happened.

And you know what? We love them. They are our brothers and sisters. We just hope that one day, they will understand that our struggle is for a better Gambia - a country where every citizen will live a dignified life.

Advisory to the President on Cabinet Reshuffle
Your Excellency,
Recent developments in our nation, particularly the tensions arising from the denial of a permit to peaceful protesters, have underscored growing public dissatisfaction and a perceived lack of responsiveness within certain sectors of government. At this critical juncture, bold and decisive leadership is essential to restore public confidence, maintain stability, and reposition your administration for effective governance.
A strategic Cabinet reshuffle is both timely and necessary. Dismissing nonperforming ministers or those who have passed their peak in public service is not merely an act of accountability it is a leadership imperative. This action would demonstrate your commitment to performance, transparency, and the democratic values upon which your mandate rests.
Injecting fresh talent into your Cabinet will bring new energy, innovation, and renewed public trust. A diverse, competent, and forward thinking ministerial team will better respond to national challenges and drive your development agenda more effectively. This move would also reaffirm your government's focus on results and its readiness to evolve in line with the aspirations of the Gambian people.
Your Excellency, this is a defining moment. By reshuffling your Cabinet with purpose and clarity, you will not only silence critics but also set a powerful example of leadership that prioritizes national interest over political convenience.

Responding to Tombong Saidy about his claims about the formation of the National Muslim Elders Advisory Council (NMEAC)

It’s unfortunate to see political actors like Tombong Saidy attempting to sow division in the name of unity. The recent formation of the National Muslim Elders Advisory Council (NMEAC) is not a political manoeuvre but a genuine effort by President Barrow to broaden engagement with diverse voices in our religious community, especially elders who bring wisdom, experience, and a deep understanding of Gambian values.

Let’s address his claims:

1. Duplication of Structures?
The NMEAC does not replace the Supreme Islamic Council, Banjul Muslim Elders, or any other religious body. Rather, it complements them by bringing additional grassroots representation from across the country to advise on matters affecting national peace and cohesion.

2. Vehicle Donations & Support?
Supporting national councils with transportation or logistics is not bribery, but it’s about empowering elders to carry out their mandate more effectively. The same support has been given to other institutions under different administrations.

3. Divide and Rule?
On the contrary, this is about inclusion, not division. The Muslim community is diverse, and it’s time we stop gatekeeping religious representation for political ends. President Barrow believes in opening the space for more voices, not fewer.

4. Respect for Religion?
Unlike past regimes, President Barrow has never imprisoned imams, banned religious programmes, or dictated Friday sermons. Under his leadership, religious freedom has thrived, and that includes creating space for advisory councils chosen not by coercion but by consensus.

The real danger is turning every national initiative into a political conspiracy. The people of The Gambia are tired of toxic politics. They want peace, development, and unity, not endless mudslinging.

Let’s stop politicising religion and start building the future together.

The recent threats made against Mo Sandi by some members of the UDP are a clear warning sign of what a UDP-led government could look like. It will be one that intimidates journalists, silences activists, and creates a hostile environment for foreigners.

Is this the kind of Gambia we want?

We must stand up now before it’s too late. Let this be a wake-up call to every patriotic Gambian.

Our democracy, our freedom of expression, and our rights as citizens are at stake.

Join President Barrow, a leader who stands for unity, justice, and real progress.

Unmasking the Truth: The Battle Against Biased Journalism in Gambia’s Media Landscape. "Partisan Pen: Exposing the Political Influence Within Journalism's Inner Circles" and "Party Politics Pose Press Predicament: A party executive member-Turned-Facebook Editor's Blatant Bias that Sparks Media Integrity Crisis".
As the Communication wing of our party, I must emphasize the critical role that a vibrant media plays in the development and progress of any nation. A free and independent press serves as the cornerstone of democracy, ensuring transparency, accountability, and the dissemination of vital information to the public.
However, it is imperative to address the issue of bias and unfair criticism within the media landscape. While constructive criticism is essential for a healthy democracy, when media outlets resort to bullying and unfair attacks, they undermine the very principles they are meant to uphold.
The editorial board of some media who has been consistently known for their blatant bias and unfair treatment of the government. It is unacceptable for a media platform to have deep affiliations with political entities that compromise its independence and integrity.
We firmly believe in the importance of a fourth estate that is independent, impartial, and dedicated to serving the public interest. Media outlets should adhere to ethical standards and strive for fairness and objectivity in their reporting.
The NPP Media will not stand idly by while the integrity of our government and the principles of democracy are undermined. We will actively engage in social media platforms to shed light on the injustices perpetuated by biased media outlets in our dear country.
We are committed to defending our government and working towards restoring sanity in social media discourse by separating fact from fiction, and ensuring that the voices of reason and fairness prevail.
The NPP Media will be a beacon of truth and integrity in the digital sphere, championing the values of honesty, transparency, and accountability and above all to stand against bullying. Together, we will strive to build a stronger, more inclusive society where the media serves as a watchdog, not a tool for political manipulation.

NPP Media and communication secretary
