Worth of Appreciation to Partners for the 2024 Achievement of TAD

Dear Value Partners of TAD,

Salam and good day. Ramadan mubarak to you all. I am back from Nairobi, Kenya.

On behalf of the membership and management of TAD, I sincerely thanks the following people:
● Mr. Suwaibou Cham (former team leader GIZ EU Tekki Fi Project)
● Mrs Jainaba T Sarr the Executive Director FIOHTG, ●Mr. Kanimang Camara Forest and Farm Facility (FFF/FAO) Project National Coordinator
● All other partners provided fund to TAD for its program and project in the last 3 years.

I was invited in Nairobi, Kenya for an IFAD/IPAF two years project implementation inception workshop organised by Samburu Women Trust based in Nairobi a Regional Partner organisation for the IFAD/IPAF projects in Africa (North, West, South, East and Central).

These people I mentioned received due diligence form from the IFAD/IPAF in Rome through Samburu Women Trust regarding their assessment on the TAD project implementation, governance, leadership, finance and accountability.

IFAD/IPAF received over 700 funding request application from over 600 organisations across Africa for the 6th cycle.

The IFAD/IPAF approved and awarded grant for the 6th cycle to only 18 organisations from 18 countries representing less than 8%. It is obvious, the due diligence report received from Mr. Suwaibou Cham, Mrs Jainaba T Sarr and Mr. Kanimang Camara contributed for TAD to be part of this significant achievement in Africa.

As team leader at TAD, I owe you a lot. You will continue to receive a deserve an uncompromise respect and honour.

I further expressed my appreciation with honour and respect to all other partners and individuals for your continous guidance and support.

We do not all need to focus learning as leaders instead we can all focus how to serve our people. The space in the leadership is very tiny and competitive. When we continue to serve our own people those whom you are serving will definitely hold and respect you as a leader and that will elevate you to positions beyond your imagination because you have combined the strength of diverse people and you become a leader with unforgettable legacy.

"Karibu, Karibu (asante sana) a phrase and gift to you from Nairobi.

Thanks
B Drammeh

The Gambia most current famous discussion across

When society or people practicing a cultural belief which others belief that cultural practices has health consequences, I don't think sanctioning or punishing that society or people is the best practices.

Sanctioning or punishing a cultural practice solely because it conflicts with one's beliefs or has negative health consequences is a complex issue. It's essential to balance cultural sensitivity with public health and human rights.

Instead of punishment, fostering education, dialogue, and community engagement can be more effective in promoting understanding and potentially changing harmful practices. Building awareness about the health consequences and providing support for alternative practices can encourage positive change within communities while respecting their autonomy.

In a peaceful society, coexistence is best achieved through mutual respect, tolerance, and dialogue. It involves recognizing and celebrating diversity while also addressing issues that may arise from conflicting beliefs or practices in a constructive and empathetic manner.

Happy International Women's Day to every woman & girl in The Gambia.

Girls are demanding that their voices be heard - every mother, sister, & aunt is instrumental in ensuring every child's survival & development.

Let's listen to them & celebrate.

Today, we "celebrate" for making it to 59. While it may not be all rosy and bloom, there is still cause for celebration.

Grateful we are for the achievements as well as the shortfalls. To the founding fathers, you cannot be thanked enough. I wonder how history would have had it today if the founding fathers had stood by and watched this country degenerate into a merger with Senegal as proposed by our colonisers.

To those who thought The Gambia was not a “viable” state, we thank you for doubting us. Your doubt has been the very source of the energy and strength exhibited by the country. We will continue to “strive and work and pray”.

Of course, today should be about reflection, introspection and retrospection, looking back on our lives as a nation, from age 1, on-net year basis and on-gross age basis. It is important we ask questions, and demand answers, if need be. How far have we come? How far should we have come to qualify our status among independent nations? And how far should we go from here?

If you want to change your life, change how you think. Changing your life starts with changing your thoughts. By cultivating a positive and growth-oriented mindset, you can reframe challenges as opportunities, set meaningful goals, and develop the resilience to overcome obstacles. Embrace self-awareness, challenge negative beliefs, and focus on solutions rather than dwelling on problems. Consistently practicing positive thinking and adopting a growth mindset can lead to transformative changes in your life.

Executive Director Drammeh and staff

I am writing to express my deepest appreciation and commendation for the invaluable role that the Tumana Agency for Development (TAD) plays in uplifting the lives of rural women through horticulture production, local soap-making, and local food processing for income-generating purposes.

The dedication and passion exhibited by the TAD in empowering rural women have had a profound impact on the communities it serves. The initiatives undertaken by your agency have not only provided these women with essential skills but have also given them a vital source of income, enabling them to transcend the shackles of poverty.

By focusing on horticulture production, you have given rural women the means to harness their land and cultivate various crops. This not only empowers them economically but also promotes self-sustainability and food security within their communities. The knowledge sharing and agricultural training provided by TAD have equipped women with the necessary tools to maximize their productivity and quality of agricultural produce.

Furthermore, the support extended to local soap-making and food processing has revolutionized the economic landscape for these women. Through your guidance, they have been able to explore and develop traditional practices into viable business ventures. By harnessing the rich resources available in their surroundings, they have transformed local ingredients into high-quality products that have found demand both locally and internationally, providing a consistent income stream for these talented women.

It is worth noting that TAD's efforts have not only had a positive impact on individual beneficiaries but have also contributed to the overall development of rural areas. The income generated through these activities has contributed to the growth of local economies, fostering greater stability and prosperity within communities that were previously marginalized.

The unwavering commitment of TAD to uplift rural women and alleviate poverty is truly commendable. Your agency's holistic approach, combining skill-building, market linkages, and advocacy, has resulted in tangible, long-lasting change within these communities. Through your efforts, rural women have regained their dignity, unlocked their potential, and become active contributors to their families' well-being and the growth of their communities.

On behalf of my staff at Radio Basse and GRTS, at large I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional work and impact that the Tumana Agency for Development (TAD) continues to make in uplifting and empowering rural women. Your dedication, expertise, and compassion are an inspiration to us all.

Thank you Muhammad for your invaluable contribution towards creating a more equitable and prosperous society.
