Promoting Unity and Fairness in the Upper West Music Industry

The music industry in the northern belt of Ghana, particularly in the Upper West Region's capital, Wa, is witnessing a dynamic shift.

One of the emerging talents in this region is Thaddy De Bossy, an Afrobeat and hip-hop artist. While the industry shows promise, it also faces challenges that need to be addressed, with a call for unity and fairness.

Thaddy De Bossy, a rising star in the Afrobeat and hip-hop genre, has been making waves in the music scene . His unique blend of musical influences and dedication to his craft have garnered him a growing fan base and local recognition. However, he is not alone in his journey, as many artists in the region are striving to make their mark on the national and international music stage.

Speaking to DJ Phamouz on Home Radio, Streetvibez he Said, For upper West music industry to flourish, unity among industry players is crucial. Collaboration, support, and the sharing of resources can go a long way in nurturing the talent pool and promoting the region's music on a broader scale. This unity should extend from artists to producers, event organizers, and all stakeholders involved in the music ecosystem.

He called on challenges that artists like him face, is the bias of event organizers.

According to him Event organizers should not focus solely on a select few artists, as this can stifle the growth of the industry and hinder the exposure of new talents. It is essential for event organizers to give equal opportunities to emerging artists, allowing them to showcase their skills and connect with a wider audience.

Favoritism within the industry is a key factor holding back the growth of music in the northern belt of Ghana. When certain artists receive preferential treatment, it can create a sense of injustice and discourage others from pursuing their musical dreams. Fairness and equal opportunities for all artists, regardless of their status, are necessary for the industry's advancement.

Thaddy De Bossy and his peers represent a new wave of talent in the northern Ghanaian music industry, bringing fresh sounds and perspectives to the scene. To fully realize the potential of this region's music, unity and fairness must be at the forefront of industry practices. Event organizers and industry players should work together to create a level playing field, where every artist has the opportunity to shine.
