The ARSRC has always trained its members to pick up leadership positions not only in the country but outside of the country as well.
This has been one of the evidence of our aims and objectives as a council.
Living the aims of the council is this astute member of the Association of Past Executives and Coordinators, Mr. David Ohene-Amoako, one of the longest serving Regional SRC Coodinator, a former Regional Trustee Four and a trainer of many of renowned members we see now in ARSRC.
Congratulations to our former Regional Coordinator for becoming the first black President of Graduate Students Association at the University of Saskatchewan.
May your reign be remarkable.🥳🤩

The Ashanti Regional SRC had an engagement with Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister of Education on Wednesday, 10th April, 2024 at the ministry of education.
Our meeting with him highlighted the need for improving education in the Ashanti Region. Looking at indiscipline acts of students having rivalries with each other and causing a riots in the region.
The Ashanti Regional SRC President, Hon. Jafaru Yussif Adaboro pointed out to the minister on the appointment of the Dean of Discipline to work hand in hand with the local SRCs in the various schools and also pointed out the need for that. The minister was happy for students themselves talking about indiscipline acts and promised to take heed to the matters raised.
Additionally, the issue of our dues not being forthcoming for the past three years was raised.
The Regional President pointed out the need for the dues to be paid directly to our bank account rather than paying the dues as part of the Recurrent Funds paid to schools. This matter was supported by the Regional Coordinator, Hon. Osborn Kwame Opoku Safo Kantanka that paying our quota of the recurrent funds to our account directly will go a long way to help the Regional Council organise programs such as Orientations, Leadership Seminars and Workshops to train the student leaders to be handle internal matters and grievances rather than issues just coming up into the news; the student leaders should be able to resolve some of the meager problems the schools are facing and also to train them to be able to lead their schools and become better leaders for the country.
Our engagement with the minister was fruitful and we hope and pray that his promises to the Ashanti Regional SRC will come true to pass.

It was a fruitful engagement with the Director General of Education, Dr. Eric Nkansah.
One major stakeholder of education in Ghana and hence for the ARSRC is the Ghana Education Service.
We had also fruitful discussion with the Director General discussing issues of our finances with him. He promised to help us get our dues paid by following it up at the ministry.
Other discussions were held at the same meeting and everything ended very well.
It was a great joy meeting the Director General and we hope to have more discussions on education with him.

Our visitation to Accra took us to the 57th President of the National Union of Ghana Students, His Excellency Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel (KOD).
Being a major stakeholder of the ARSRC, Hon. KOD received executives of the Ashanti Regional SRC in his office on Wednesday, 10th April, 2024.
He is a former Regional Trustee Three of the ARSRC and also a former NUGS Secretary for Education.
Our discussion with him was on the need to establish Regional SRCs in the remaining 14 regions left without SRC.
The Greater Accra SRC and the Ashanti Regional SRC are the only Regional SRCs in establishment for the past 35 and 27years ago respectively.
The regional council seeks to train the SHS student to become a better leader for our mother Ghana and its imperative to have same council training students in the other regions left.
Arrangements had been done and the NUGS president has already sent a proposal to the Director General of Education and plans are being made to hurriedly establish SRCs in the remaining regions.
All thanks for adwuma wura, Barima Oppong Kyeremeh, Ghana will have a facelift in leadership some few years to come.
We look forward to having other engagements with him on other educational policies.

On Wednesday 10th April, 2024, the executives of the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council, as part of our visitation to some stakeholders of Education, visited Mr Dennis Appiah Larbi Ampofo, the former National Union of Ghana Students President.
Our discussion with him was fruitful as he shared his life experience in leadership with us and promised to guide us anytime we reach out to him.
Mr. Ampofo Larbi is an astute leader that has run through the ranks of leadership throughout his lifetime as a student.
He is a former Regional Trustee Four and completed Asanteman SHS in 2012 when he became a member of the Association of Past Executives and Coordinators.
He was also the SRC President of University of Cape Coast in 2017. His notable leadership is enviable and that every growing student leader in second cycle should look forward to being like him.
Thank you Honorable Dennis for your time and resources spent with and on us.
