His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo today join Queens Girls' SHS in Sefwi Anhwiaso in the Western North Region as the Special Guest of Honour at the 10th Anniversary of the only Girls' Senior High School in the region. The President in speech emphasized his commitment to Girls.

The president was accompanied by the Western North regional minister, deputy educational minister, chiefs of the Sefwi Anhwiaso transitional council, and the clergy.

The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) has matriculated 44 freshmen at the UMaT Study Centre in Sefwi Bibiani. The freshmen are the first batch of students to enroll in programmes at the newly established community school.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Richard Kwasi Amankwah indicated that in addition to the Sefwi Bibiani Study Centre, the University has plans of establishing schools in other mineral-rich communities in order to build the capacity of community members engaged in minerals and
mining-related activities and also equip them to take up professional jobs in the industry.

1. Teachers & professors in Ghana are the most polished when taking bribes: they tend to avoid cash the most.
2. Land Commission officers collect the biggest bribes.
3. Oti is the region with the highest bribery, Western North has the lowest.
