SWAG IN COLLABORATION WITH BETWAY TRAINS SPORTS JOURNALISTS
7th February, 2020, Swag with financial support from Betway combined to train some sports journalists from Volta region, Eastern region and Greater. It is the first seminar in this new administration of Sports Writers Association of Ghana(SWAG) as part of their promise when elected to office to educate their members and sports journalists in general as to how to gather stories, promote sports and how to use the digital media. Maurice Quansah editor of graphic and vice president started a quote "If you want to be respected as a journalist, you need to behave PROFESSIONALLY". Michael Oti Adjei and Lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo general secretary of the GFA. A lot of senior journalists in the media also pass through and share their experiences, Gary Al Smith of multimedia, Benjamin Willie Graham of GBC, Godfred Akoto Boafo General manager of liberty Prof. and Citi fm and Elloiny Amande C.E.O of Karela fc. Michael Oti Adjei took the over 85 sports journalists through how to use digital media(ie Facebook, twitter and instagram) effectively as journalists, he said journalists must always act professionally and try to be on top of issues by being educated and build relationships. Lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo GFA general secretary speak on the topic Ethical and Legal considerations in sports journalism and educate journalists to be very careful about what they say or write about people so that they don't get sue at court or jailed. Benjamin Willie Graham also talk about how to do commentary without going through difficult and be mentioning one player name like 10 times.
