Majority Leader, Hon Alexander Afenyo-Markin is of the view that aspect of the bill "must be looked at once again as they do not serve the purpose for which the law was made."
In a post after an interview, Hon Afenyo-Markin indicated that though he is for the passage of the bill, "custodial sentencing is not the way to go."
"Imprisonment will not reform offenders of the law and for that matter, community service must be prioritized," he noted.
He added: "Our prisons, I pointed out, have become fertile grounds for the promotion and practices of homosexuality and for that matter, incarceration ought to be abolished."
