On Saturday 27th of November, we took part in a beach clean up excercise at the Jamestown Beach dubbed championed by Race for Ocean Ghana . This campaign was also supported by , and our humble outfit .
Indeed there is much to be done about plastic pollution especially on our beaches. And we as a people owe it a duty to keep our beaches clean all the time.

WE END UP CONSUMING THE PLASTIC WE THROW INTO THE SEA
Plastic bags are bad and for the most important unnecessary.
Forget bottle water, tap water are also good pour it into a reusable water bottle and always have fresh water on the go without wasting plastic.
We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea,whether to sail or to watch, we are going back to where we came from
We make so many things that does not require longevity that plastic has..
We don’t need a straw that we will use to sip one drink that will stay in the environment forever.
Let’s have a change of mind and let’s save the ocean together.

THE OCEAN IS NOT A GARBAGE CAN
There is nothing more beautiful than the way the Ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline no matter how many times it is sent away.
So our actions over the next ten years will determine the ocean for the next 10,000 years.
Let's strive to recycle all plastic waste instead of dumping them into the ocean.

A MOVEMENT AGAINST OCEAN PLASTIC POLLUTION
A garbage truck of Plastic is dumped into the ocean every 1 minute.
Each year an estimated 18 billion pounds of plastic waste enters the sea.
The effects of these actions are dire. The plastic end up into the stomach of fishes and other creatures in the sea.
Pollutants in the ocean make their way back to humans. Small organisms ingest toxins and are eaten by larger predators, many of which are seafood that we eventually eat. When the toxins in contaminated animals get deposited in human tissue, it can lead to long-term health conditions, cancer and birth defects.
This is why we need to fight against Ocean Plastic Pollution and keep our beaches clean and devoid of any dirt especially plastic waste.
Join us on 20th of November, 2021 at Dzita (Meet Me There) as we engage the local community on matters related to ocean plastic pollution.
There shall be beach clean up exercises and other fun experiences all in efforts to keep plastic out of the sea.

Mr. Kofi Ofosu Nkansah is the Managing Director of the Accra Digital Centre a Government of Ghana Business Processing Outsourcing / Information Communication Technology Centre under the Ministry of Communications.

Kati is born in Hungary, but in 1979 moved to Ghana with her Ghaianian husband where she has been living ever since. Kati Torda was attracted to Ghanaian beads when her husband’s families welcomed her to a yam festival with a bracelet created from single beads.
Kati Torda's first bead exhibition took place in Accra's Loom Gallery in 1995, and her jewelry designs have since become well-known and sold not only in Ghana, but also in her native Hungary, Germany, in the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, and the Smithsonian Museum of African-American Art in the United States.
Kati is the Founder and CEO of Suntrade Beads . In fact, her work is a tribute to Ghana's beading legacy.
