I'm spending my Saturday at an event organised by IMPACT CAREER. Experts shared insights on professional experience, leadership, and most importantly, how to survive and thrive in an ever evolving society where competencies can or not guarantee a job.
No matter where you are in your career, you need to be a visionary. You need to keep learning, building your capacities and never stop trying to excel in what you do.
Stay tuned for more..

I started this page some time ago with the main objective to share stories about young girls among us, who, despite hardships, are making it. However, after telling the stories of a few ladies, I hit a wall. My wall was that anyone I approached didn't want to share their stories, and these were the reasons I was given
1. The girls don't think they have accomplished enough for their stories to be an inspiration to anyone else
2. They' ve not reached their goals in life yet, so there is no need to tell a story about where they are now in their course of life
3. We are in Africa. If you want to succeed, you need to live a secret life
In all, only a few girls agreed to share their stories.
To remedy this, I started writing and sharing stories about my own experiences, and even though I find it fulfilling ( I get to vent about things that I experience in my professional life) it's not the purpose of this page.
Considering all the above, I'm coming back to tell the stories of amazing women, already known, public figures. However, knowing that people already know those public figures, we want to tell the stories of gems, incredible women we meet, greet, laugh, and spend our days with.
If you are a young lady and you want to tell your story, no matter where you are in life, no matter what you do ( porridge seller, hairdresser, seamstress, entrepreneur, business woman, hustler....) please reach out inbox..
Tell us your story. Tell someone " everything is going to be alright." " I did it. You can do it too,"
Support another young lady somewhere who is currently discouraged and crying..
In the meantime this is Director General of World Trade Organisation Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.For more information about her, please google it 😘😘😘😁😁

Story time
A couple of days ago, I was at a high-level meeting. In an African context where our officials and senior authorities are considered as living mini gods I was taken aback when after sitting down for the meeting to start I was asked to move, change seat so another male colleague could seat. I felt I was relegated to the note-taking girl, the translator in the room. Do you know what? It wasn't ok. IT IS NOT OK, I was'nt ok with that. I felt so humiliated. I felt it was unfair to me and maybe all the other ladies who are treated that way when they get into meeting rooms full of men. It's not ok.
We've worked so hard, I've worked so hard to earn my seat at the table, to be taken seriously, to have credibility and after all the sacrifices and over a decade of experience I'm still looked down on. That's not ok.
You get into a room and what comes to their mind is, "oohh she is PRETTTY" let her be the note taker and when a guy, maybe even younger than you gets into the same room, they say "ohh he is smart."
DONT BE OK WITH THESE KIND OF BEHAVIORS

Yes, we are right into it the OLlYMPIC GAMES and check this out. My favorite gymnast SIMONE BILES...

The Greatest gymnast of all time, Simone Biles is officially the first woman to have executed the Yurchenko double pike vault at the World Gymnastic Championships and now, at the Biggest World sporting festival in the world, Olympic Games in France 🇫🇷.

The Yurchenko double pike vault is considered a herculean ex*****on and the most difficult task, however, the greatest of all time, has been able to successfully performed it consecutively.

Based on her historic ex*****on of the Yurchenko Double Vault Spike, it's now named after her as Biles ll.

Simone Biles has also submitted the original copy of her invented elements on the bar to be outdoored and named after her.
What a legend!👏
What a legacy!!👏 👌

Bravo Naomi. You're doing it girl...

🇹🇬Naomi Akakpo: une fierté togolaise 🇹🇬

Ça y est c’est officiel, JE VAIS AUX JO !!!!!!!! 😭🥹🔥🇹🇬

Naomi Akakpo, Beyond Limits

I learned something in my few years of working in a corporate environment, and i wanted to share with you..
Respect in life is important, but it's much more when it comes to the professional environment. Show respect to everyone by valuing people's ideas, efforts, and work. People talk and are really observant. Be mindful of your surroundings and try to be you, with no lies, no pretenses, and good work ethics.
It might not be THE key to success, but it's definitely one of them.
If this has inspired you in any way, give it a thumbs up and share with your loved ones.

My name is Elsie Boateng
I would describe myself as a feminist, a writer, a fitness enthusiast, and so much more.
So much more because I believe each time we are evolving and discovering new things about ourselves.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Ghana and a Master of Science degree in Finance and Management from the Loughborough University in the UK.
I currently work in a bank in Ghana, I have worked as a banker for 17 years, with roles as a Teller, Human Resource Officer, Head of Operations, and currently a Relationship manager.
Just like a lot of women all across the globe, I have had a lot of challenges. Challenges of finding what my true purpose is. Then, there is the most difficult challenge of juggling a career with motherhood whilst at the same time pursuing excellence in a career that demands a lot of my time and focus.
However, through all this, I have managed to break through a lot of obstacles by having a belief in myself and the belief that I am enough.
I am the strongest believer in my abilities, and I have a very strong positive mindset, which has helped me through most of my most challenging periods.
I have also relied a lot on a support system of family of family to help me, because without them it might have been impossible to combine all aspects of my life for success.
My career has equipped me with great managerial skills. My best ability has been to manage people, put together a team, and harness the individual skills of each member for a common goal.
I enjoy seeing people grow, especially women , I would be biased and say I love to see women grow.
That is why I founded a non for profit organisation 'The Woman Called She', which was formed to empower women in all spheres of life.
Our flagship program 'Think before you Click' has benefitted over 5,000 young girls across the country.
The obstacles women face are real and I live for the moment when we as women will become firm believers in equality , when we come to believe in our potential and our ability to break all barriers to achieve our goals.
I am constantly working to improve myself because I believe the best gift you can give the world is to be the best version of yourself.

You're doing an amazing job. Thanks for sharing your story and how you overcame obstacles and challenges to be where you are. Lost of hugs and kisses 😘 💋

You have to accept the fact that you don't know everything. You need to be humble enough and accept to be a perpetual learner, a student. That's the road to greatness, success, and fulfillment.

Hey there, I'm Diane , I was born and raised in Gabon but moved for my university studies and got married in Senegal. I'm a dedicated wife and mother of four remarkable children who thrive on challenges. Here's my journey:

I moved to Senegal for further education, earning a Master's in International Trade, a Master of Sciences in Business Organization with a focus on project management, and a DESS in Immigration Law from Québec, Canada. While studying, I landed my first job as Head of a travel agency, Bellview Airlines Ltd, and worked there for 3.5 years. After the company shut down, I transitioned to roles such as a receptionist at a medical clinic in Dakar and later an admin assistant at a major telecom company, where I worked for 5 years before pursuing opportunities with a United Kingdom government agency.

A few years ago, my family and I relocated to Canada, where I pursued my DESS in Immigration Law to become an Immigration Consultant. Working abroad presented several challenges that i wasn't prepared for, including disappointment, discrimination, and most importantly, balancing family and career responsibilities. However, i never gave up. By God's grace and the support of my husband and friends, I've developed resilience, adaptability, and other essential skills that can't be taught like working under pressure and effective communication.

Currently, I'm employed in the Finance department of the administration of the 4th largest city in Quebec province and aspire to become an immigration consultant. I believe in women supporting and empowering each other rather than competing with each other. Whoever you are out there, young girl or lady, let's keep encouraging each other and promote unity among us. Let's remember to uplift and inspire one another on our journeys.
No matter how hard I had it, I knew I was destined to be great, and guess what, I'm just getting started ☺️☺️☺️☺️

I respect you, mummy Diane, and all you've achieved so far. You've always been an inspiration to young women in our congregation. Those who know you can attest to what an extraordinary woman you are. Keep inspiring us. Lots of hugs and kisses 😘
