A young man, Aliu Musah, from Kwara state in Nigeria, has built two mini airplanes.
These mini airplanes are controlled by a remote control, which he uses to fly them.
Aliu says he has no engineering background and that everything about the project is self-taught.
According to him, 100% of the materials used in the project are locally sourced.

Meet the 25-year-old Pierri Sedi from the Democratic Republic of Congo( DRC) who built a neuron helmet.
Pierre Sedi is an engineering student from the University of Kinshasa, DRC.
The Neuron Helmet allows people to control or move robots using brain signals.
The project according to him is inspired by an X-Men cartoons he watched whilst he was a child, in which one of the characters used to wear a neuron Helmet.
He said the project aimed to help disabled who no longer have control of either their hands or their legs to work using their brains.

Meet Frank Jilima, a 13-year-old boy from the Nanumba North district of the Northern region of Ghana 🇬🇭.
Frank just like any other child had dreams and his dream was to become an engineer in future.
However, the young boy had his dreams dashed when he had an accident on his way back home.
He was taken to the regional hospital in the area for surgery but that did not suffice the situation.
Frank has not been able to regain his fitness and has since been on crutches.
To keep himself busy, the young boy has turned to art, making toy cars, tricycles, trucks, buildings, planes, and among other items.
Frank needs help! He is appealing to individuals, and NGOs to come to his aid.
He needs medical attention to get back on his feet so he can go back to school and achieve his engineering dream.

Residents of Montserrado county from 🇱🇷 Liberia, have built an improvised mini train using timber.
The locally made wooden trains run on an abandoned railway line that stretches from Bomas to Montserrado county.
This is the only source of transportation in that part of the country which the locals depend on to transport their farm produce to the market.
The wooden train is driven by manpower, and it requires energetic men, usually more than one driver depending on the distance to get it to it destination.

The president of the Niger Republic, Mohamed Bazoum has commissioned a new power plant situated in the Eastern city of Zinder, Niger.
The power plant is of a capacity of 22 megawatts of energy and has cost the country 23.6 million dollars.
The project is to support the country solve its energy deficiency and increasing electricity connectivity in the country.
Sadly, only 20% of the country's population has access to an electricity connection.
Niger also has plans to build a 20MW plant in the city of Maradi and hybrid 10MW plants in the cities of Diffa and Dosso, with funding from the African Development Bank.
