This year there were a fantastic 1018 entries into our children's writing competition WriteStuff, from 21 schools across Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Sark 🎉

The entries were judged blind by top children’s book authors Rashmi Sirdeshpande, Sam Copeland, Frances Hardinge and Huw Lewis-Jones, all of whom travelled to the island for a special presentation event at Les Cotils.

Our winners this year were:
📘 Ruby from The Ladies' College Melrose Primary Class
📗 Zara from Les Beaucamps High School- Intermediate Class
📒 Herbie from Elizabeth College Guernsey - Senior Class
📕 Xavier from Le Rondin School- SEND Primary Class
📙 Riley from Les Voies School- SEND Senior Class

Literary festivals are all over the UK and Ireland this month, in locations just as appealing as the books they showcase.

Tickets are on sale now for this year's Guernsey Literary Festival 🎉

Join us from 2nd - 14th May 2023 to hear speakers covering topics from history, politics, poetry and the environment to health, sport and music. You'll find well-known authors, local voices and new speakers featured across our programme of over 65 events.

Would you like to get involved and support this year's Guernsey Literary Festival? 📚

We're looking for volunteers to ensure our events run smoothly and the festival is as successful as possible. There are all sorts of roles with which we need help, from chaperoning speakers to collecting tickets at the venues.

All volunteers will be invited to a briefing meeting in advance of the festival so that everyone feels confident with their tasks, as well as the Opening Party in May.
