There is a big potential for good, authentic stories in this region, but almost no professional training initiatives specialized on innovative non-fiction formats or creative documentary. Experts coming from the EU will train documentary and TV professionals in the region to rethink and rewrite their projects so that they become attractive on the international documentary market. Besides this, loc
al TV professionals and commissioning editors will be trained in appreciating and investing in quality non-fiction productions. This will hopefully open up the market and benefit to European audiovisual productions as well as the market in the region. Each workshop session will be attended by 15 participants (registered for all 3 sessions) and by 6 more who can apply for the session of their interest in Tbilisi or Sibiu. The participants will be selected according to their projects and profile: from independent documentary directors working on innovative non-fiction projects to other media and TV professionals (editors, authors, TV producers, TV directors, commissioning editors). The participants will be trained in documentary dramaturgy, structure and form and they will develop their own projects. During the third session they will present their own projects in meetings with sales agents, producers, commissioning editors and other industry representatives at the IDFA - International Documentary Festival Amsterdam 2012.
