Dear friends and colleagues,

You have undoubtedly noticed what is happening in Georgia right now. Our friends, colleagues, and fellow citizens are being persecuted, beaten, tortured, and arrested by the police and special forces of the self-proclaimed government of the Georgian Dream party, following the totally rigged elections of October 26, 2024. Among the detained innocent civilians are also members of the cultural scene.

It is clear to everyone — this terror bears the familiar signature of Russia. The Georgian Dream party is following the Russian FSB’s (Federal Security Service) instructions to turn Georgia into another Belarus.

But - we are united and stronger than ever!

For more than 10 days now, 100,000 to 200,000 of us have stood together, peacefully protesting. We will continue until our country returns to its rightful path toward Euro-Atlantic integration!

✨ სიხარულით გიზიარებთ, რომ გუშინ, ტალინის საერთაშორისო კინოფესტივალზე, საზეიმო ვითარებაში, კინორეჟისორ ლანა ღოღობერიძეს კინოში გაწეული ღვაწლისთვის გადაეცა საპატიო ჯილდო.

🏆 დაჯილდოების ცერემონია შედგა ფესტივალის დახურვის საღამოს, მანამდე კი ფესტივალზე ნაჩევები იქნა კინირეჟისორის ფილმები: "დედა-შვილი ან ღამე არ არის არასოდეს ბოლომდე ბნელი" და "რამდენიმე ინტერვიუ პირად საკითხებზე".

🌷 წელს ტალინის კინოფესტივალზე განსაკუთრებული ადგილი დაეთმო ქართულ კინოს. საქართველოს კინოინსტიტუტის მიერ ფესტივალზე წარმოდგენილი იყო სპეციალური პროგრამა, "ქართული სფოთლაითი", სათაურით , "ყვავილები არ არიან ჩუმად - დამოუკიდებელი ხმები საქართველოდან", რომელიც გახსნა ირინა ჟორდანიას ფილმმა "ჰაერი ლურჯი აბრეშუმია", ხოლო პროგრამაში წარმოდგენილი იყო შემდეგი ფილმები: ელენე მიქაბერიძის "ლურჯი მოცვი", ტატო კოტეტიშვილის "წმინდა ელექტროენერგია" და აკაკი ფოფხაძის "დაე დაიწვას სისხლი".

🎞️ ასევე ფესტივალის სხვადასხვა პროგრამაში აჩვენეს ფილმები: ნინო ბენაშვილის „სადაც დრო იდგა", გიორგი სიხარულიძის "პანოპტიკონი", თენგიზ აბულაძის "მონანიება".

ამასთანავე, დოკუმენტური კინოს საკონკურსო პროგრამის ჟიურის ერთ-ერთი წევრი გახლდათ კინორეჟისორი თინათინ გურჩიანი.

ტალინის ბნელი ღამეების საერთაშორისო კინოფესტივალი ბალტიის ზღვის რეგიონის ყველაზე დიდი ფესტივალია, რომელიც განსაკუთრებულ ყურადღებას აქცევს აღმოსავლეთ ევროპაში ახალი ხედვისა და ხმების აღმოჩენას.

✨ We are delighted to share that yesterday, at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, in a solemn and celebratory atmosphere, film director Lana Gogoberidze was honored with a prestigious Livetime Achievement Award for her significant contributions to cinema.

🏆 The award ceremony took place during the closing evening of the festival. Prior to this, two of the director’s films, „Mother and Daughter, or The Night Is Never Complete“ and „Some Interviews on Personal Matters“, were showcased as part of the festival's selection.

🌷 This year, Georgian cinema held a special place at the Tallinn Film Festival. The Georgian Film Institute presented a curated program titled Georgian Spotlight: „Flowers Are Not Silent - Independent Voices from Georgia.“ The program opened with Irina Zhordania's film „Air Blue Silk“ and included screenings of Elene Mikaberidze's „Blueberry Dreams“, Tato Kotetishvili's „Holy Electricity“, and Akaki Popkhadze's „In the Name of Blood“.

🎞️ Additionally, Georgian films were featured across various festival programs, including Nino Benashvili's Where Time Stood Still, Giorgi Sikharulidze's Panopticon, and Tengiz Abuladze's iconic Repentance.

Notably, Georgian filmmaker Tinatin Gurchiani served as a jury member for the documentary film competition program.

The Tallinn Dark Nights International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Baltic Sea region, renowned for its dedication to discovering new visions and voices, particularly from Eastern Europe.

🎥 ვაჟიკო ჩაჩხიანის სრულმეტრაჟიანი ფილმი "ძაღლი ყეფს" შეირჩა Tokyo Gap-Financing Market-ზე! ეს არის პლატფორმა, რომელიც ტოკიოს საერთაშორისო კინოფესტივალთან ერთად სულ ახლახან გაიმართა! ფილმის იდეის მიხედვით, რომელიც რეჟისორ ვაჟიკო ჩაჩხიანს ეკუთვნის, სცენარზე მუშაობს ავტორი საკიჩი სატო. ფილმი იქნება პირველი ქართულ-იაპონური კო-პროდუქცია, პროდუსერები "ფუგა ფილმი" და "ნუში ფილმი" (საქართველო), ასევე Tomo Suzuki Japan LTD-ის (იაპონია).

✨Another exciting piece of news!

🎥 Vajiko Chachkhiani's feature film, The Dog is Barking, has been selected for the Tokyo Gap-Financing Market (TGFM)! This platform, held in conjunction with the 37th Tokyo International Film Festival, presents a remarkable opportunity for the project. Based on an idea by Vajiko Chachkhiani, writer Sakichi Sato is developing the script. The film will be the first Georgian-Japanese co-production, produced by "Fuga Film" and "Nushi Film" (Georgia) alongside Tomo Suzuki Japan LTD (Japan).

The Georgian Film Institute wishes great success to Vajiko Chachkhiani and the entire team!

☀️მოკლემეტრაჟიანმა ფილმმა "მცხუნვარე მზე" კოტბუსის კინოფესტივალზე მთავარი პრიზი მოიპოვა!

✨Nutsa Tsikaridze is the winner of Film Festival Cottbus! FilmFestival Cottbus

☀️ Her short movie "Burrning Sun" won the main award at the Cottbus Film Festival!

✨ მოხარულები ვართ გაცნობოთ, რომ ტალინის საერთაშორისო კინოფესტივალზე PÖFF | Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival წელს ქართული კინო განსაკუთრებულად არის წარმოდგენილი.

🌷 ყვავილები არ არიან ჩუმად", ასე ჰქვია პროგრამას, რომელიც საქართველოს კინოინსტიტუტის მიერ არის ფესტივალზე წარმოდგენილი.

🎞️ ქართულ პროგრამას ხსნის ირინე ჟორდანიას ფილმი "ჰაერი ლურჯი აბრეშუმია", რომელიც არის ფილმის მსოფლიო პრემიერა. პრემიერას ესწრება ფილმის შემოქმედებითი გუნდი.

We are thrilled to announce that at this year’s Tallinn International Film Festival, Georgian cinema is specially represented!

“Flowers are not Silent” is the name of the program presented by the Georgian Film Institute at the festival.

The Georgian program opens with the world premiere of Irine Jordania’s “Air Blue Silk,” with the director and her team attending the event.

Other films featured in the lineup include:

Lana Gogoberidze’s “Mother and Daughter, or the Night is Never Complete”, Elene Mikaberidze’s “Blueberry Dream”, Tato Kotetishvili’s “Holy Electricity” and Akaki Popkhadze’s “In the Name of Blood”.

As one of the major film festivals in Europe, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival is a significant event in the international film calendar.
