For those of a certain age, *Mary Poppins* instantly evokes memories of the much-loved Disney film and its unforgettable songs. This stage production at the Wales Millennium Centre brings that nostalgia vividly to life — and then elevates it.
From the moment the curtain rises, the production dazzles with vibrant colour and outstanding sound design. The audio is superb: immersive, crystal clear, and perfectly balanced, allowing every lyric and musical flourish to land beautifully.
The staging is a triumph. The use of 3D effects is genuinely astounding, and each scene change unfolds with effortless precision, as props glide seamlessly into place, maintaining the magic without breaking the flow of the story.
Choreography is executed with skill and polish, combining energy and elegance in equal measure. The lighting design deserves special praise, expertly shaping the mood of each scene and steadily building anticipation throughout the performance.
Above all, the show is joyful. Laughter ripples through the audience again and again, a testament to the production’s charm, timing, and warmth.
*Mary Poppins* at the Wales Millennium Centre is a thoroughly enchanting experience — a perfect blend of nostalgia, technical brilliance, and sheer theatrical delight.

Cameron Mackintosh and Disney’s spectacular production of the classic multi award-winning musical Mary Poppins is embarking on a UK and Ireland tour and is flying to Wales Millennium Centre from 3 December for 6 weeks only.
