Whether you’ve followed us from the get-go or you’re new around here, you’ll know that we’ve always been a huge advocates for Journaling and the power it holds to helping you with your mental health 🧠
..and I myself love to journal realistically, and remind you that it’s okay to make mistakes, and that your journals are meant to help you, and not feel like homework!
Now if you’ve never journaled before - giving it a go can seem quite daunting, especially if you have no idea where to start or what to write about, which is where my brainwave comes in 👀

The idea is to create a habit tracker for yourself so that you can hold yourself accountable for the things you want to work on this week/month! Whether it’s drinking more water, getting more sleep etc

2. “Things that make me happy” Journal Spread:
The idea is to write down all of the wonderful things that happen within your life that bring you endless joy and happiness, so that whenever you’re in need of some self-care ideas, or need a pick me up, you can look back on it & action something!

3. “Positive Reminders” Journal Spread: (Which is the one I’m doing in this video!)
Create a cute double page spread, whether it’s using cut-out’s or scrap pieces of magazines, colours and patterns, and then write down some feel good positive reminders for yourself to look back on, in your times of need! The idea is to big yourself up as if you were bigging up your bestie!

STRUGGLING TO BE KINDER TO YOURSELF? 😅 you’re not alone, sis!
I remember when I first started my self love/journaling journey, I would clam up when it came to talking about myself in a positive way, in fact, I didn’t write much at all and I remember my journals at one point collecting dust because I refused to write in them at all 🙈
And as you’ve just heard me say - it’s only when I took part in CBT therapy did I learn that it’s actually a fear of being vulnerable!
So here’s what YOU can learn from my old therapy sessions 👇
The next time you need to write/speak or think positively about yourself or your life, I want you to take a step back and imagine your friend stood in front of you.. and say those things to your friend 🙌
I want you to big yourself up, in the same way you’d big your friend up! ..that’s literally it (I know, so simple, but so mind blowing!)

CALLING ALL LOW SELF-ESTEEM GIRLIES 👇
I want to remind you that having these low-self esteem moments is A-OKAY, they’re going to happen, now matter how confident you are!
Having these moments isn’t a sign of weaknes or failure! We’re human! We’re going to feel like we’re not good enough or our bodies aren’t good enough from time to time (I mean, it’s not right that we feel that way, but we’ve gotta normalise it!)
The way I see it, low self-esteem is like a wound (stay with me here), and it’s going to open up from time to time, and the only way that wound is going to get smaller, is through self-love and compassion 🩷
So, if you’re struggling with your low self-esteem right now, and you find yourself speaking to yourself in a negative way, I want you to try this method 👇
✨ Imagine talking to yourself, as if you’d talk to a friend! ✨
For eg, If you heard your friend talking smack about their body image, or their abilities… What would you say? 👀
You sure as fudge wouldn’t say, “Oh yeah, you’re totally right!” 😅
You’d go back at them and tell them just how wonderful they are, and you’d big them up SO much (we’re here for it) 🩷
So if you can speak to your friends in a loving manner, why can’t you say it to yourself?

👇MY TOP 2 PLANNING TIPS👇
Hey I’m Abs and I have a confession 😆🙋♀️
I used to struggle so much with planning my month in advance, or at least having a rough idea of what i’ve got going on.. I never stuck to anything that I actually wrote down 🤭
I know, right? Awkward 🫠
…And on top of that, I would give myself such a hard time and tell myself I was a “failure” for not being organised.
So, if you’re out there feeling overwhelmed by it all and are struggling to put pen to paper (literally and figuratively!) in the same way I used to, here are 2 things that helped me crack the code on planning my schedule in advance 👇
1. If something isn’t set in stone (like meetings, or appointments etc) WRITE IT ON STICKY NOTES 🙌 That way, if things change at the last minute, you won’t have to rub out pen or make a mess of your month! (Because who wants that?)
2. Colour Code your month! I always dedicate particular colours to particular items, for eg:
Work = 🧡
Personal Appointments = 🩷
Self-Care items = 🩵
Mum Life = 💚
That way, I can clearly see what I’m doing, where my time is going, and how I can spread myself equally! For those of you who watch our stories, you’ll know I LOVE self-care, so I’m always going to make sure that I have plenty of that scheduled into my calendar!
