I'm working on a new project to deliver 10,000 academic calendars to students attending University of York, and York St John University in 2024/25.

The calendar will run from September '24 to August '25, and will feature key dates relevant to York's students, including local festivals and cultural events.

As it stands we have distribution guaranteed in Abode, Hello Student, and Student Roost properties - with more yet to come on board.

The project will be funded by perimeter advertising and I'm already working with some fantastic local businesses including York Tyre And Vehicle Services, The Orchid Vegan, and Wellbeing in York CIC.

There are spaces available.

I had a very enjoyable walk and a chat this afternoon with Jo, who is leading the comms for the Friends of Severus Hill campaign.

Severus Hill has a history that dates back at least as far as the Romans. In the 1960s it was scrubland, and completely accessible to the public. However, since access was restricted, and human activity on the site all but ended, it has re-wilded and become a wonderfully ecologically diverse 'green lung' only a mile outside the city's walls.

Now up for sale, the local community are rallying to fundraise with a view to buying the land; to preserve and conserve this unique urban green space, and to save it from being sold for development.

This conversation and more will feature on episode 1 of The Yorkie Pod - due for release, May 1st.

I've not posted much this year. Not through lack of projects, but because I've not been working on much new stuff.

Yesterday though, I spent a day at the Great Yorkshire Show with Ecoffins shadowing Cris from Last Wishes Funerals as we're producing a series of podcasts about Funerals, what can and can't be done when saying "goodbye" to loved ones, as well as a discussion around 'End of Life' planning.

Thrilled to have worked on this book published by Coterminous, as well as the digital content available exclusively via the NFC-tagged bookmark which comes with the edition.

Very proud that one of my photographs has was selected to be the cover-image. Thanks to the team who were up at 2am dressing a bus-stop as a bedroom with me.

There will be more digital content to come.

'Homeless Bound' was created by people with lived experience of homelessness, and explores a broad range of themes, including how language and stereotypes ultimately lead to the disempowerment of those affected by the issue.

Had a fantastic morning yesterday with Vicky Dixon and her wonderful interpreter, filming part of the introduction to Outside Influence - York; a new website launching soon!

The project is brought together by Community Links and LIFE- Lived Insights from Experience and is telling the human stories of those people experiencing homelessness and multiple complex needs in .

A few hours of video to produce for Outside Influence - York, then also travelling to Dynamic Earth Edinburgh and Portman Road Stadium with Chamber to produce live and recorded sound for two exciting conferences.

It was a pleasure to work with Herstory.York and Good Organisation Social Ventures earlier this year to produce an audio walking tour of York. It was also excellent to produce some audio specifically for the '100 Women' exhibition at York Castle Museum.

Welcome to my page; Jez Russell Production.

In recent times I have produced events and media for Tang Hall SMART CIC, Good Organisation Social Ventures, LIFE- Lived Insights from Experience, Herstory.York and others.

Previously I have completed production projects for Lingotot Franchise HQ, Univeristy of york, Flettons Surveyors and others.

Projects on the horizon include a series of conferences with Chamber, a further documentary with LIFE and hopefully more digital audio tours produced with Good Organisation.

I am also working towards the relaunch of Two Rivers Radio at some point...
