Hello. I do hope you'll join me this week for my final ''Jazz Hour' broadcast here on Longside Radio. It's been an amazing past 13 years and this week I'll be looking back at some of the up and coming bands and artists who I've had the privilage to feature.

I'll have tracks from a 'birthday' list which includes Tommy Dorsey, Coleman Hawkins, Hoagy Carmichael and Nat Adderley and I'll have the final instalment from my 'Album of the Month' featuring Humphrey Lyttelton.

Hello. Pianists Bennie Moten, Hampton Hawes, Art Hodes and pianist and singer Diana Krall are all 'birthdays' from the past week and will feature on my programme on Sunday evening.

I've had a request for a couple of tracks featuring Count Basie and I'll have another track from my 'Album of the Month', which this month is called 'Beano Boogie' which was released in 1989, by one of my favourites, Humphrey Lyttelton.

Hello. Cornetist Muggsy Spanier, pianist and singer Mose Allison and bassist Sam Jones are all featured on 'The Jazz Hour' this week here on Longside Radio.

I'll have another track from my 'Album of the Month' which is called 'Beano Boogie' which was released in 1989 by Humphrey Lyttelton and his band and amongst the much, much more I've got a request for a track by Acker Bilk and I'll have a 'back to back' of tracks from the great British swing band leader Ted Heath.

Hello. As I enter the final month of my programme here on Longside Radio, I've got the start of a new 'Album of the Month' for you, and it's a 1989 album called 'Beano Boogie' which was released that year by one of my favourites Humphrey Lyttelton and his band.

I'll have 'Birthday' tracks featuring Clifford Brown, Lou Donaldson, Billy Mitchell and Booker Ervin and I've had a birthday request for a track from Blossom Dearie.

Hello. It's Jazz time again and on my live programme this week I'll have tracks featuring Harry 'Sweets' Edison, Thelonious Monk, Lee Konitz and Art Blakey, all of whom would have celebrated a birthday over the past week.

'All About Memphis' is the title of my 'Album of the Month' which was released in 1958 by the American born clarinetist Buster Bailey
which I think is really good and I've had a request for a track featuring Art Pepper.

Hello. The 67th 'Monterey Jazz Festival' in California took place last weekend and on my programme this week I'll be playing tracks from some of the great and the good of jazz who've entertained the millions of supporters over the years.

I'll have the start of a new 'Album of the Month' for you which has been recommended by one of my regular listeners and on my 'Birthday' list I've got tracks featuring Fats Navarro, Bud Powell, Red Rodney and Buddy Rich.

Hello. On 'The Jazz Hour' this week I'll be starting a new 'Album of the Month' called 'Trombone Four in Hand' which was released in 1959 by Dickie Wells and I think you'll like it.

I've also got a number of 'Birthdays' to get through from the past week, a list which includes, amongst others, Lester Young, Charlie Parker and Dinah Washington.

I'll have a couple of tracks from a live session in February 2003 featuring drummer Alan 'Sticky' Wicket and his band and amongst the much, much more I'll have tracks from the Chris Barber band and Nat Gonella.

Hello. 'The Very Best of Ella' is the title of my 'Album of the Month' for August and given the number of emails I've received, it's certainly proved a very popular choice.

From my 'Birthday' list, I'll have tracks featuring George Shearing, Benny Bailey, Oscar Peterson, Duke Pearson and Ike Quebec and I've had a birthday request for a track from Kenny Ball and his Jazz Men.

A 2012 album called 'The Very Best of Ella' is my 'Album of the Month' featuring many of the great recordings by the late, great Ella Fitzgerald and amongst the much, much more I'll have tracks from Humphrey Lyttelton, John Coltrane and the 'Merseyssippi Jazz Band'

Hello. On 'The Jazz Hour' this week I'll be starting a new 'Album of the Month' which features many of the great recordings by the legend that is Ella Fitzgerald.

In last weeks programme, I did a feature on the American crooner Tony Bennett, well, earlier this week one of my regular listeners reminded me that on the 3rd August Tony Bennett would have celebrated his 97th birthday..well, he's one of several other 'Birthdays' this week, a list which includes, amongst others Hank Jones, Kenny Burrell and Louis Armstrong and among the much, much more I'll have tracks featuring Artie Shaw, Pat Metheny and Jelly Roll Morton.
