We were lucky to partner with Growing Together Cornwall during Covid. An amazing, passionate organisation with nature and community at the heart of everything did. Sad to see them go - but you can still find their ‘Grow Your Own’ tutorials in our Prospero.digital library.

This is a happy/sad thank you and farewell from Growing Together Cornwall. It might take a couple of minutes to read but that's not long when you consider how much we have grown together.

When I started Growing Together Cornwall CIC in 2019 my vision was to bring people together through a shared passion for growing and gardens.

🌻 Plans for our first National Lottery Community Fund project were immediately stymied by COVID but, undeterred, we came up with St Agnes Sunflower Festival 🌻. We sent thousands of seeds to households across the parish of St Agnes and saw our wonderful community come together through a shared joy of growing even when they couldn’t be together physically. 🌻

🌱After the success of the sunflowers we went on to Let’s Grow with local businesses, youth groups and community groups growing food on their doorsteps. Tomatoes, potatoes and a herb garden all within a meter squared. 🍅

🌻 Next, with the backing of The National Lottery Community Fund and Co-op Communities fund we took the sunflowers countywide for Cornwall Sunflower Festival. With the help of the ever enthusiastic Mark Brn and Co-op stores across Cornwall, we distributed thousands of packets of organic sunflower seeds to fill the county with colour! 🌻

There were other smaller projects along the way. We created information packs for schools receiving free tubers from National Dahlia Collection. We were delighted to be supported by Mount Hawke Millennium Green who enthusiastically grew together for every project. It was wonderful to help Newquay Sunflower Festival, Supporting Our Friends In The Ukraine get started.

If I was a superstitious person, I would say that luck wasn't always on our side. I've had cancer a couple of times since starting the company. There were plenty of moments when I felt like giving up, but growing together kept me going. I'd like to thank the directors of Growing Together Cornwall, Ian Dean, Kate Macarthur, Dave Ruse and Louise Danks from National Dahlia Collection for their support and enthusiasm.

We have come a long way and grown a great deal together. Unfortunately there is no denying the toll cancer treatment and surgery has had on my body. So, now it is time to say thank you to all of our growers and supporters, good-bye and keep growing together whatever!

Exciting times ahead! 🎭
We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Hannah Phillips and Kitty Ross as the interim Creative Directors of Scala, the new arts and entertainment centre coming to the heart of Worcester's city centre! 🌟
Hannah, Artistic Director of Mobilise, and Kitty, Director of Dancefest, will be leading the creative vision for Scala.
Both have been instrumental in helping shape the business plan for Scala, and their passion for the arts will be central to creating a space that celebrates creativity and culture.
The venue is set to open in 2026 📆

We’re signing off for Christmas and New Year with some great news!

Contracts have been signed and the builders are moving in to start construction of the Scala Arts Centre in January 2025. Its finally happening! And we’re part of this amazing future for the arts in Worcester!

We’ll be back on 6th January 2025 with a year packed full of amazing projects around the world and some thrilling new innovations to our digital creative learning platform Prospero.digital. Can’t wait to tell you more!

Well, actually we can, as we’re off for two weeks of mince pies. Have a great festive break, however you celebrate!

Today we launched a new cohort of New York City schools into our Living Newspaper programme, combining drama, journalism and digital tech to explore issues that matter to the world and young people today.

Tremendous news. We’re excited to announce C&T and Prospero.digital are collaborating with Acorns Children Hospice in Walsall on a new project to create a multi-sensory immersive installation for life-limited children and their siblings. This is going to a hugely challenging project, working with an organisation and professionals who do incredible, important work. We’re going to be working with some world-leading artists who are going to be a amazing collaborators.

Today we started a new cohort of Royal Central School of Speech & Drama MA Applied Theatre students on their Prospero.digital journeys, devising a range of workshop ideas they could deliver through our Prospero tech online. Hugely inventive ideas - and so much positive energy!

Today we welcomed Junliang Liu to the C&T team! Junliang joins us as part of Collaborative Doctoral Award with our partners Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Today he kicked off starting to create a VR immersive digital resource bringing to life the Scala Theatre, before restoration work gets underway. Great to have you with us Junliang!
