It had been 5 years since the last standalone British Call Duck Club Show when Call breeders again gathered in Haverfordwest in October. In spite of this, the breed maintained its popularity with the show attracting an incredibly impressive entry of 580!

It’s been quite the show season for Gareth Nicholson and his Dad James, securing Show Champion at The Federation Championship Show, Reserve Show Champion at The Poultry Club National and Show Champion at the Yorkshire Game Show.

Fancy Fowl Printed Subscriptions are now available on our website again for £60 for 12 issues, £5 per copy posted to your door.

Singles issues will be £6 each as we increase the cover price from the November issue to £3.50 a copy, the first increase in decades!

We are running all subscriptions from November to October so that all renewals are due at the same time.

This means that if you subscribe in December, starting with December issue, the cost will reduce by £5 as you will be receiving 11 issues instead of 12 by not starting with November.

There will also be the option to purchase the full 12 issues on the website regardless of which month you commence your subscription. Any issues printed from November up to the point of when you subscribe will be posted out to you.

e.g. Subscribe in January with the full 12 issue option and we will post November, December and January issues at the same time and then your subscription will continue up to and including the October issue. This link will be available once we are into the month of December.

We hope that over the next few months, our subscriptions continue to build so please do share this post and encourage friends and family to subscribe.

🏆😃 It’s National Week - 1 SLEEP TO GO! 😃🏆

And so, the night before the 2024 National Show, we arrive at the last National Show held way back in 2019! That year Jed reported back on Mạrk Hewertson’s victory with his large white Wyandotte pullet, named Overall Best in Show by Championship Judge Graham Waddell.

We can’t wait to see you all at this weekend’s show! We’ll be there at our stand throughout the weekend with hard copy sign-up forms and past copies of the magazine so please do pop by to see us!

🏆 It’s National Week - 2 sleeps to go! 🏆

A Pekin has won Supreme Show Champion at the National Show on 3 occasions, first in 1999, again in 2013 and then most recently in 2018 when Thomas Adamson’s Black Pekin hen was awarded the coveted prize by Championship Judge Ian Sissons. And you guessed it, Fancy Fowl reported back on the win!
