Paul Lutkin has seen much success with his Polands, regularly returning to find his birds on Championship Row as Best of Breed at The Poultry Club National and Federation Championship Shows - on several occasions these birds going on to win their Section and move up to Championship Circle.

His winning Show Champion at this year’s National Show therefore came as no fluke, but followed years of dedication to the breed. In our December issue we hear from Paul about what winning Show Champion at the National meant to him, and learn more about his poultry journey.

Our Editor Jed Dwight is currently out in Germany 🇩🇪, having made a return visit to the Leipziger Rassegeflügelzüchterverein - first visiting back in 2012!

Today he met Orpington breeder Daniel Lorenzen who found success with his large buffs 🏆 and chatted with Jed about how the shows are run over on the continent.

It had been 5 years since the last standalone British Call Duck Club Show when Call breeders again gathered in Haverfordwest in October. In spite of this, the breed maintained its popularity with the show attracting an incredibly impressive entry of 580!

It’s been quite the show season for Gareth Nicholson and his Dad James, securing Show Champion at The Federation Championship Show, Reserve Show Champion at The Poultry Club National and Show Champion at the Yorkshire Game Show.
