Congratulations to Wolverhampton’s Dr Rani Gundhu on her Sislin Fay Allen Lifetime Achievement Award.

Sislin Fay Allen (1938-2021) was the first black woman PC in the UK, and this Award is named in her honour.

Rani is West Midlands Police’s longest-serving female officer with four decades of service, and in 2020 was also awarded the Queens Police Medal, the highest honour in policing.

Dave Dungar is one of those people who make Wolverhampton special. He’s dedicated his retirement to building civic pride in the city through its history, science, literature people and buildings as Chairman of the Wolverhampton Society.

You’ll meet Dave during this Tuesday’s Inside Tracks at 6pm, where you’ll also hear how despite a lengthy spell working in Hong Kong, he and his family couldn’t help returning to the place they loved.

It even extends to his son, who gave up a life in London to come back home.

Dave’s love of the area shines through in every minute of the show - along with his love for music. From local star Beverley Knight to The Beatles, and from Bruce Springsteen to Roxy Music, it’s a musical journey as exciting as Dave’s own rich and varied life.
