PM34 Steve Parry / Colin Potter "WOMB" CD

Peripheral Minimal records is proud to announce the forthcoming release of the legendary and previously unreleased album, "WOMB" by Steve Parry (Neu Elektrikk / Hywl Nofio) and Colin Potter (Nurse With Wound). Recorded onto tape in 1981, it has remained unreleased in any format until now! Limited to 500 copies in a digipak CD with an 8-page booklet containing detailed information about the recordings.

"Womb remained unreleased other than a few cassette tapes given to friends. In 2014 I re-discovered the album master tapes while having a house clear-out. The Ampex 406 master tapes were severely damaged due to natural deterioration, the original tape had to undergo a time-consuming restoration process. Thankfully the project was salvageable and the music was transferred to digital. I must admit listening now to these recordings I am reminded of the creative surge and ebullient enthusiasm for making the music. It was indeed an exciting time."

Due to the passing of my Mother a few weeks ago, and of my Father late last year. This has meant that I have had to travel from Dorset to Sussex on a weekly basis. Therefore, and with regret, orders from bandcamp and the website have been neglected. I wish to apologise and to promise that you will receive your orders as soon as possible.

A hauntingly beautiful and melancholic album of hushed lugubrious vocalisations, pulsating drum machine, reverberating guitar and minimalist synthetic structures. But, from the dark appears light and strength, moments of joy, colour and hope, in a period of uncertainty, anxiety and turmoil none of us could have possibly contemplated.

This is a wondrous journey through the mind of Northern German musician Anna Nin, who began working as GLARING in October 2018, having been previously known as "None" in 2017. Musically, think early 4AD [ specifically Dead Can Dance's debut album ] meets Tropic of Cancer, Boards of Canada and the dreampop veneration of the Cocteau Twins.

This LP will be her 8th [ which have been mostly self-released,then re-issued by labels such as Squall and Popnihil. A lathecut album and boxset of "collected works" was also released by Minimal Kombinat in 2020 ] and limited to 250 copies on black vinyl. The album will be released on October 15//10//21 and the first single from the album will be "Vanth", released as a download, followed by "Pain Walks With Me".
