I know that we’re now well into January- but taking this opportunity to wish everyone a fantastic 2025.

2024 was a fantastic year for us and not simply because of our wonderful Brides and Groom’s, but because we had some awesome Birthday Parties, Corporate Events, a Festival and some ‘Throwback’ events too.

We have limited dates available now until the Summer and lots of enquiries from September onwards, so it looks like this year will be just as amazing too.

Zoe & Connor celebrated their Wedding Day in style at a lovely little hidden gem in Blackmoor, yesterday, with family and friends travelling far and wide to be there with them.

We were privileged to provide their entertainment - packed with the cheesiest party anthems that packed the dancefloor from start to finish and saw smiling faces on everyone. We also added a cheeky surprise for their 1st dance, that only Connors Dad and I knew about - The Sparkular Spectacular! and the Ooo’s, Aaah’s and Gasps when I first fired them made it worthwhile.

Yesterday , in the middle of a field, in the middle of The South Downs, we had the best time ever helping Sophie & Scott celebrate their big day working alongside the amazing 19Eighties band - and what a day.

Starting of with their celebrant then moving into the marquee for the Wedding Breakfast, courtesy of a mobile Egyptian Street Food Kitchen, followed by the Speeches and the obligatory Ice Cream van and the mobile specialty Coffee crafting van… and then that first dance - and the party started! …. Before to mobile wood fired Pizza Truck turned up …. I’ve never EVER seen so many Pizzas made 😱😊😂.

The amazing 19eighties ( Marcos Johanna and Lenin) absolutely ‘knocked it out of the park’ and the guests loved every second of their sets and when we went on to the finale with your truly, the guests we definitely in party mode 😊😂🎉🪩. It was one of those gigs you simply didn’t want to end … so we didn’t 😂😂😂 well, not on time 😊😉😉😉

Congratulations Sophie & Scott, thank you for your generous hospitality and for looking after us, may you have decades of happiness ahead and a huge thanks to Marcos and the 19Eighties for your constant support

One of the most honest comments on a ‘Should I hire a DJ?’ post we’ve ever seen.

Whilst we appreciate that many bridal couples are working with strict budgets, one that we always advise is to not scrimp on your entertainment for your wedding reception. Whether you want a fab Wedding DJ, a Singer/Duo or a Full on Wedding Band, the worst thing is to budget low. Great entertainment will make or break your party and is one of the biggest memories they take away with them! (apart from the happy couple saying I do).

A Spotify playlist is unable to read the mood of your guests, make important announcements or host your event - at worst it gives in to the temptation of possibly some of those drunken guests to play their favourite footie anthem or favourite dark emo tune 😂. Great if everyone’s into that but can be disastrous to the fun vibe of your magical day.

Another tip is to choose your DJ wisely. Prices vary so much from as little as £200 to £2,000. In our experience the lower end of those budgets are some DJ’s who are just starting out, pub DJ’s or ‘Part Timers’. In our opinion there is nothing wrong, whatsoever, in hiring these - as long as your are confident they will deliver exactly the atmosphere you wish for your Reception. The higher end of the price scale will give you the choice of a truly Professional Show usually encompassing expensive, high end, state of the art equipment and a very experienced Wedding Professional.

Had an absolutely wonderful evening entertaining Jesse & Kayleigh and their family & friends in sunny Marwell. The weather was absolutely perfect, albeit slightly warm inside until a little later in the evening - however that did not stop the party. As the happy couple are huge Drum & Bass fans, there were big club vibes later on in the evening and some of those party anthems too, enjoyed by all. Thanks going out to Megan and the fantastic staff at the Hotel and for the hospitality from the Bride & Groom. Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Bell, may you have a lifetime of Big Beats 😊😊👍🏻

We had the absolutely pleasure of heading the celebrations at Laura & Scott’s ‘Happy Ever After’ Party at The Punchbowl, last night. Our 2nd time playing for the family, last year we played at the Wedding of Laura’s Aunt, so already ‘knew’ a lot of the guests and so was anticipating a great night - and boy, we had a blast 😊.

From the 1st dance til’ the end we had a night of full of smiles, dancefloor mayhem and some great Party classics, many chosen by the Bride and Groom themselves…. In fact even after the music stopped, the party games carried on - keeping me totally entertained and laughing as I was packing away. Many thanks to Teresa (Mother of the Bride) for entrusting me to help them celebrate and for your hospitality and big thanks to the staff on duty tonight at The Punchbowl Hotel for your help and nice comments on my service, hope to be back soon.
